Maverick...Hamber @Germ has just started a new thread and is posting never before seen pics and that roadster is in two of the pics from this collection...I suspect it is Barris built and it won a sizable show in 1961...

A few color transparencies from "The Emporer". Chuck Kirkorian's 1929 Ford Model A roadster.
The frame was fully chromed and it was powered by a 550 HP Cadillac Eldorado engine.
This roadster won "America's Most Beautiful Roadster" in 1960.
One of these transparencies shows the roadster with the winner's trophy in 1960.

 

Thank You Germ. The workmanship was top notch and the timing of this photo is very coincidental as I just saw that trophy in another thread and that Iconic show is underway...that is the GNRS correct?​

 

In 1960 the show was in Oakland.. it was known as The Oakland Roadster Show. Later it was changed to GNRS..

I keep seeing that Lt. Blue coupe and wondering if that was the one done at ASS monkey Garage awhile back anyone remember it?

No it was a 32 in the same color. They had some other guy come in and do the interior and it sure looks a lot like this one on the thread earlier..

They did a green 31. Wasn't as chopped or as low as this one. It did have white interior and the same rear wheels though.

This truck was built and shown by Ken Kay from Kitchener Ontario. Ken built this little truck in the late 50’s- all work done by Ken..He won a lot of trophies with it.Like a lot of the cars back then- it evolved through some changes and different paint schemes and colours. I don’t know what happened to the truck after Ken stopped showing it.
Those who know Ken know he went on to have a very successful career painting and striping custom cars, trucks and motorcycles. He also painted two Ridler trophy winners that I know of.
He is still going strong at a tad over 80

 

Looks like one of those crappy ass aftermarket grills from a late 60's early 70's Chevy truck. Totally misses the mark on an otherwise decent looking truck
