Hot Rods Vintage hot rod and drag car pics only no pics after 1967 and only of cars pre '65

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by gasser-a-go-go, Dec 8, 2018.

  1. I don't consider that either a Hot Rod or Drag Car which is what the title of this thread is asking for.

    That is easily fixed!
Instead of being a criticising c*nt! .... why don't you contribute something useful yourself.

The majority of the last 15 posts were made by myself or some Aussie members trying to keep this thread from dying.

The car in question would be considered a Hotrod [commissioned by Ford]

Designed by Eric Broadley from Lola:
Body stamped out by Abbey Panels:
    Assembled by JW Engineering:
    Transaxle by "Zahnradfabrik Friedrichshafen":
    302 Shortblock by Ford:
Heads/Manifold by Gurney [and Harry Weslake]:
    Carburettors by Weber:

It has every right to be here ,just like an A/FX Ford or Dodge

Wellington in early 1967 [this was the very first Camaro to arrive on our shores, so it was probably a late '66 build date]
Wellington is where the US Embassy is . And the car was owned by a US serviceman
The crowds at that time had never seen such exotica

thanks for that.......this thread was dying, and I was running out of material to post.
    Keep them coming!

Here's a photo of Warren Anderson in his Holden 6 cylinder Altered.
Back in the late 60's USA V8 engines were getting difficult to import [due to govt regulations]

Warren built an Altered with an Aussie Holden 6.
Rumour was the frame/cage was made from thin wall exhaust tubing so the car was a feather weight.

Luckily Warren never had to test the safety aspect of the frame/cage

Down our way we also had "Coke is the Real Thing" advertising .
And Aussie singer Russell Morris produced this psychedelic song "the real thing"
Coke then used the chorus from his song with their TV and Radio advertising!

So Coca Cola pants and this song screamed the 60's
