Anybody running these ? Thinking of putting them on my '60 chevy mild kustom. Just want that old rumble sound , staying true early 60's vibe. Thoughts?

Long Smithys, Cherry bombs are too damn loud.
They may make good resonators with another muffler upstream.

I run Powerstick mufflers behind my 302 in my '50 Ford. Nice and mellow at idle and cruise but jump on the gass and it really wakes ppl up.

60's Cherry Bombs, (Red), Walker Continentals (Blue) Turbo ? (GM performance part I think) These were the mufflers of choice in Wisconsin, all with down turns hanging off headers, tail pipes, who needs stinking tailpipes. I actually switched to the Turbo style with tailpipes because of constant cop stops over noise as they were pretty quiet compared to the glass packs. All of my later cars have had Flowmasters with exception of 51 Mercury, Cherry bombs but decided tailpipes to back of car are a necessity, the drone of no tailpipes went away for me, the wife wore ear plugs in my cars for many years.

Oh yeah...I've learned tail pipes are a necessity nowadays. We must be growing up.

Cherry Bombs piped all the way out the back behind my 327. Sounds great, not much conversation goes on inside the car though.....

It's been said, growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional. Also, We are only as old as we think, Why is my 71 year arthritic body telling me I'm old, Still thinking I'm a young stud, Not an Old Fart, Who is that guy I shave in the mirror ? Looks just like my Dad. LOL

My 32 had cherry bombs dumped before the rear axle. Was going to get pipes run out the rear, but sold the truck before I did

If I'm not mistaken, (happens a lot more now days) the GM turbo mufflers were from the the turbo-charged Corvair Sypders. Hot rodders discovered they were fairly quiet but low restriction

At least when you get tired of it, you can buy stock type quiet mufflers pretty cheaply.

Cherry bombs on a full exhaust system seem to have a nice rumble on my flatty.

  17. I just put a new pair of cherry bombs on my F-1 w/flat V8. They seem a bit louder than the old ones but sound great. No tailpipes, dump in front of the axle.

Porters! I run them on my 53 chevy and will run them on my 30 coupe when the flathead goes in. Made in the USA just like they were in the 50s. Build like canons too.

Cherry Bombs on everything I own, but I do run pipes all the way to 1/2” past the bumper - no drone, love the sound

I want to hear my exhaust on these cars..none of them have a radio/stereo.

i always liked thrush tin cans, and to me the red bullets sound like them, but as said we are getting older and i have turned more toward the tone then the noise. i have even heard sears muzzlers behind a sm block that sounded real nice. check out this link on thrush muffler tones.
