Well things worked out and I will be starting the long tow back home. I am going home with my Grandfathers '38 Lincoln sedan that in my mind is in amazing original condition. I do not want to rod or change anything that can't be undone easily. When he last drove it which was over 10 years ago he got home and found water in the oil so I have no idea what I will find in the engine. It has cast iron heads and may be as simple as a head gasket, somehow I doubt it though. Personally I think this car would be incredible as a cruiser and possible tow vehicle for the '27 speedster I am building going to TROG.

I just found a set of windwings under the front seat labled 1939, I hope they are the same as the '38 otherwise I may be looking for some for a '38 and have a pair of '39's available. One thing I would like to update as I intend to use the car are the brakes and switch to hydraulics. Any Lincoln guys out there have some advice?

  10. With that car towing your TROG car........it would be beyond cool. As for the brakes? I'd think all the hydraulic parts from a 1939 would swap over to your car. Maybe the guys over at Ford Barn would have some insight.

  11. @Chris Casny .....is familiar with them. He's got a glorious, "unstocker" being finished as you read this. It, and he .... are BAMF'rs.

Otherwise ..... a quick search function, may steer you to the many, other Lincoln Zephyrs here, in HAMByland.

    Have fun !!

That's a real beauty, and it was your Grandpa's too, which makes it even better. I can see why you'd want to leave it basically untouched. Brake upgrade seems like a good idea.

I like how the drip rail follows the doors but not the rear quarter window.

As requested, the left ash tray is missing (it may turn up) but other than that it's complete and showing 70 sum thousand miles. Sitting in the back seat feels like a lazy boy. I would like to find a can of touch up paint if anybody has any suggestions as to a good place to find a match might be. I will be travelling back via I-10 and stopping in Phoenix and Houston, Miami is close to home.

Those Lincolns don't need much, if anything to look great. Maybe lower it a scoch, update the brakes, some go fast parts and dress up the engine a little. I'd love to do a 30's Ford hot rod with that dashboard.

I just think the speedster behind the Lincoln would be way too cool. Of course I might be responsible for distracting drivers . . .
The speedster is a Rajo powered '26 T my Mom and Dad build over 30 years ago. About a decade ago I went thru making it look good again.

Beautiful car. I would not change a thing. That is worth keeping stock & enjoying it as it is. Congrats on the car.
