The first photo looks like Riverside in 1967. Gary Bettenhausen in the Joe Hunt Dirt Car and Al Miller in the #85 Gerhardt.

I can't identify anything on the second photo, Rootie. I'm assuming this photo was taken somewhere in Texas maybe? Anyway it's a very interesting shot and any information you have on it would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Any other SoCal kids remember Powerine Gas stations. Two -three cent a gallon coupon with each purchase.

Richmond Dragway… Richmond, Virginia. This was during period when Nascar was involved in drag racing. Notice U/S (Ultra Stock) on windows, which was Nascar class then.

Sure, the driver is Red Hodges out of Dallas and the picture was taken at Love Field Speedway near Dallas possibly just prewar or late 40s. Les Butlers So. Dallas Battery has fielded race cars forever throughout Texas and the central states and the family still does to this day!

  5. If it's the same company I remember, they had a refinery in Santa Fe Springs CA along Florence Ave. The refinery was torn down a few years ago and it had been closed for some time before that.
One of the storage tanks had a logo painted on it that looked like this.
