  15. Connors, who was born in Brooklyn, had one pinch hit at bat without a hit while playing for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1949. While playing 1b for the Chicago Cubs in 1952, he appeared in 66 games, 57 of which were at 1b. He had 201 at bats with 48 hits, 5 doubles, 1 triple, and 2 home runs. He had 10 pinch hit appearances with one hit. Those were not exactly stellar numbers for a 28 year old, 6' 5" left-hand hitting Dodger, nor a 30 year old left-hand hitting Cub. No wonder he took up acting. He starred in the 1956 movie, "Hot Rod Girl," but will forever be remembered as "The Rifleman."

My Mom always had to watch his lame assed show, I thought it sucked. To make it worse the show advertised Mopar cars:(

  18. This is a slick car. I like the use of the 26-27 body over the more common 23 era body. The little bit longer bed looks good too.

  19. I was thinking the same thing. At first I thought the 59 Chevy was coming in a little to hot, but the Buick is doing the same thing!

YEP!-------Remember when Sepulveda was the end of the runway?----There was a gas station across the street, planes started getting bigger so they closed it & made the underpass.

Looks like a Nike missile being moved to it's launch silo. Even though they were secret everybody in town knew when they were coming and turned out to watch them on the road when I was a youngster.

We had several Nike sites in Connecticut and they got outdated and the sites reverted to State control. From the 70's onward my bomb squad used the to burn the fireworks we had picked up at several of the abandoned sites in state control.
