The nicest, cleanest car I ever had was a 62 Impala 327 I had to sell when I got drafted in 69. I think about that car sometimes; it's like you can't ever go home again. For it to be like I remember, it would've had to have been in sealed vacuum storage all this time. Or something. No way, most likely I'd have wrecked it.

A red '69 Corvette ragtop, 350/350, four speed. 3:36 rear end. I was stupid, considered
it more of a collectible than a fun car. I didn't put on near the amount of miles I should
have. My favorite ride of a selection of kool cars.

If I could get them back for what I sold them for, ALL of them. If not probably my Willys or my 37 Ford coupe.

  5. I don’t really regret selling anything. If I let myself think like that I’d drive myself to the nuthouse even faster than I’m already going.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda... Screw that. Build something new and keep moving forward.

Wow, this is going to be hard, but so far, I've owned 46 cars. I'm NOT boasting, I'm a poster boy for "So Many Cars, So Little Time." Guess I loved them all when I bought or built them, but there are my favorites.
A 53 Chev 210 two door sedan my godfather gave me when I was 16. He bought it new and thought it would be a good start for me. Black exterior, black/grey interior, 235, 3 speed. A month after I got it, it had split manifold duals, extended rear shackles (remember them?), wide whitewalls with red steelies and baby moons, and heated coils up front. Red fuzzy dice swung from the mirror. Looked good, sounded obnoxious, and held its own with every other ride in the local drive in scene.
Then we have my Sunset Orchid 57 Merc Turnpike Cruiser. Need I say more about that one?
My 57 Pontiac Starchief with a swapped in 389 Tri-Power and air ride was a thriller with power everything and A/C.
The 63 Corvette convertible with a fuelie 327, 4 speed, and 67 side exhausts was a one way ticket to a burial plot, so I sold it.
My special order 72 Mercury Cougar XR-7 with a 428 and C6 was fun at stoplights, if you know what I mean.
There were so many more, 54 Merc ragtop, 56 Merc Montclair I put a 400/C6 into, 56 Crown Vic glasstop in pink/white, 56 Safari I put a 421 Tri-Power into, bone stock 51 Merc two door, 68 Ford custom four door sedan ex-highway patrol squad with a nasty 428, 55 Buick special with a 322 and factory 3 speed, and the ugliest duckling I ever owned 59 Catalina two door sedan "stripper" factory 3 speed, into which someone slightly crazier than me inserted a 421 Tri-Power. HATED (loved) that hobo.
There were/are others, but don't want to wear out my welcome. I'm now much more adjusted and happy with my two 58 Edsels and my 55 Merc Montclair.
Who knows, maybe tomorrow I'll revert to my old behaviors and buy another (FOMOCO) car.

  8. If I had all the $$$ I had in to all the old car I had and sold.I could buy my own island and retire there.LOL.Bruce.

That was my 50 that I had to sell about 7 1/2 years ago to help pay for the adoption of my daughter. No complaints whatsoever-but yeah I really miss the car and would buy it back in a second if I had the chance...motor that I built and detailed even made it into a little snippet in Hot Rod Delux!!!

Hard to choose. Over the years I have got back a few of my builds including my current Chopped 37 Chevy Sedan and my old 37 Chevy Custom Kingcab Pickup that my Son now owns. If I had to choose It might be the 37 Chevy Sedan Delivery that I converted into a Family Wagon style windowed Delivery. Lost track of this one after it ended up on the West Coast. Last sighting was a for sale ad with an asking price of $62,000. Of course my very first car which was a hand me down from by Brothers in the 50's might be a cool one to have back.

The car still exists but I would never be able to afford it now. Regrets are sometimes painful. It was a neat car. First hotrod I ever drove. Very chopped! It's a sickness. The white 39 Ford coupe in the line up picture ended up being my first hotrod. I flamed it. I have only one picture of it when I owned it and I have no scanner to post it. That another one I wish I had. 1239896_465550403552604_2004148764_n.jpg Dales.jpg

Narrowing it down to one is tough. At the present time, I would like another '55 Crown Victoria, to put an FE in, this time with a C6.

54 f100 with front suspension out of a 69 camaro, did a lot of metal work on it and never got to drive it....had a kid and sold my 72 firebird and my 54 ford f100 so we would have some extra loot.

  24. If you would have kept it, it would have stayed in the "awesome" yellow. You preferred to sell it so no reason to complain and insult a fellow Hamber.

This 63 Porsche. I didn't sell it. It got rear ended by a Jeep. I did a nut and bolt rotisserie restoration on it. Broke my heart and made me get out of the Porsche business. ROCK3001.jpg

  28. 56 ford Victoria HTP. Turquiose & white with Turquiose & white Tuck & roll interior. I sold it to a guy who it was his first car, that interior was his 1962 HS graduation present. He traded it in on a new 64 ford. I owned it 18 years.

  29. 1934 Ford five window Coupe.:D I was 14 and in High School, finished the bodywork and could not find anyone to help me build a frame because it was all rusted away.:( It was an original V8 Car and I bought a 1949 sedan to use the engine from. Hood, fenders, grille all went out the door for $500 to a guy in a tractor trailer delivering feed to the feed store from Utah.:( Sold the 49 Ford V8 engine for the original $25 I had invested in both cars. The bad old days, now you can buy that frame anywhere.
