On the Poncho in my avatar (apart from that it's still unfinished, even though it's been sooo close for 2 years), has gotta be the bark from the Porter mufflers, and the stance. On this; dartwork.jpg It's gotta be that it's ass-ugly.

I had a pale yellow '63 Valiant 2 door sedan, that I put Omaha orange 14" steelies on. My neighbor wandered over, and asked why I painted the wheels orange. "Because it's MY fuckin car" was my reply...

Was this picture taken from behind or near the old Waltham Watch factory? My mom and dad are in the cemetery across the river on the hillside overlooking the factory. The old watch co. is where my dad earned his machinist Journeyman in the 40's.
    Love the wagon, btw

Best thing about this thread is the friggin COOLNESS! It just shows the many different ideas as to what a "hot rod" or "custom" should be. And every one is spot on for that guy. Lovin' it.

My old car left puddles of various fluids everywhere it was parked. My Frazer will probably be that it is a make that nobody under 60 has ever heard of.

  14. Guess these old magnum style wheels.......when I got a first set of gray painted ones about 1974 - the guy said they were Shelby's - heck didn't care about that - but they fit my Stude truck running Commander car hubs....and looked bitching....run them a lot because I run over things ! 20180901_170012.jpg 20180902_100141 (1).jpg

More than anything else I'd have to say the color combo...

Great Catch! That's exactly where the car is.
The Old Watch Factory is now mixed-use office/apartment/restaurants. Long overdue! Glad to see all that History preserved. (They did a great job on the renovation).

And yes, that is Mt. Feake Cemetary in the background. We'd bike through there as kids. Still active, with many of my own family and friends there.

  18. Not sure that mine has a single signature feature. For the Hamb, it's probably the overall exterior look............stance, wheels, color, overall "cleaning up" of unnecessary trim, seamlines, etc. For those that don't know, for me the entire car is my signature because it was my first ever build and it was totally done, including paint, in a one car converted carport with a dirt floor over a 10 1/2 year period, and I did 99.5% of the work. lol, I did the exhaust down to and including the mufflers, but had the rest done at a shop. other that that, I can say I did it all.
At shows, I get pretty evenly distributed interest/positive comments on my very unique interior and my drivetrain. Unfortunatly, both are OT (if an interior can be?), for sure the drivetrain is. Overall, the interior is so unique, it is probably the one signature. IMG_0669.JPG

Mine would be the signature/autograph of Parnelli Jones, who won his first NASCAR race in a white 1957 Ford!

Interesting thread. a few things that make my car unique are a banger with a T-5, Custom perimeter frame and the fact it is a Special coupe with original type top.

It’s bright freaking green and doesn’t like to stay running. Those are the signature features

Paint and wheels, even though the paint is a stock Ford color and the wheels are old. 20171023_110348.jpg
