Lambeck’s Sierra Gold 150. had the national record in 68 Div 7 Stock Eliminator. Went 12.75 or so I am told. My buddy has some of the parts off the original car is suppose to be building a recreation that will be raced.

  12. From what I remember hearing, after Geo. sold his delivery, and before he bought the Bobby Warren Nova, he did this project with Fred Borchert. Freddie was a local Hydro and Pontiac guru, and I believe it was his idea.

I never paid attention to what class this was in. M/SA would have been a carbureted motor? I know Fred ran injection on his cars guess I always assumed they ran the same combo on George's car as well.

  14. I was just reading in Doug Boyce's book, that the Pontiac was fuel injection. George bought the car cheaply from a Truppi-Kling customer. Fred went through the engine and transmission, but the car proved to be inconsistent, and was sold after only one season.

That is one of the most beautiful 56's I have ever seen. Would love to own that one!

Early 80s, at Quaker City (Salem, Ohio) there was a guy who ran a beautiful plum & white '56. IIRC, towed with a just as beautiful matching '56! Don't recall the name, almost had to be Mr. Kincaid? I do remember it was spotless & fast, & he was very good.

A lot of FI powered cars were slower and inconsistent because of the humidity on the east coast. Marve Ripes 57 Corvette slowed up a lot when he came east. Georges Pontiac ran OK in the early spring and late fall but died during the summer.

Did anyone take any pictures at Darwin Dolls Junior Stock Reunion show last week?

Would love to see a photo of Buck Wheatley "Heartbreaker" clone car from the 1967 and 1968 US Nationals.

Jim Hayter in the near lane. Would have been a heads up E/S run.

Not necessarily a Jr Stock show, but Darwin's York show is this coming weekend in Lebanon PA. The Wheatley brothers are being inducted into the "Legion of Honor".

    Thanks Bob:
I did the Contingency decals for the car and and I thought Buck said it was last weekend but I must have misunderstood him.
We were talking on a daily basis sometimes a few times a day about getting the car ready and at 72 years old I probably heard him wrong which is something my wife tells me I do everyday.

My wife trick is she will look at me and say something and when I nod my head yes she will then ask what she had just said and of course I have no idea. I like to tell her I have what is know as "Selective Hearing Deficiency"

Jimbo, I've tried that one and all it gets me is an offer for a complimentary fat lip and a chance to eat at McDonald's for a week!

A thought came to me-might be mistaken-Iron Horse II raced by Olson and Woodward from the Twin Cities area-seems I remember them from Minnesota Dragways running T/S-if I'm wrong please correct me-while I'm at it I'm looking for pics of Anderson and Toren '57 Ford wagon-I think they ran M/S.Thanks Doug Schriener

    Chuck:
I think you are right and Buck Wheatley kind of told me the same thing when he called me.
I know I should just agree to get a hearing aid or two but I cannot bring myself to admit that I really do need to get a hearing aid.
I have already tried setting the volume to it's highest setting when talking to customers on the phone along with adding a volume booster so it just might be time to accept the fact years of going to drag races and other forms of racing having taken their toll on my hearing.

    I appreciate your advice. Jimbo
