Man o man this just keeps getting better!

 

19 days until I have to have the car loaded for GNRS, busy times around here ! My machinist got the new ring gear mount machined, and sweated onto the 4130 CM tube. I welded it, and am cooling it slowly. Now I am going to pull the setup rear axle out of the car, so he can determine the total axle width. He will machine and install the end stubs, for me to weld. Some final machining and I can assemble the Pat Warren rear axle unit complete.

 

Well, now I'm kicking myself for not getting over to your side of the hill over holiday break. I'll catch up with you soon. This has been incredible to watch my friend

Pat and I, plan to have some merchandise at the show, 17 X 24 posters and tee's, hot off the press !

 

Wow! Any chance those will be available to your HAMB buddies who might not make the show????

 

We will have them there. In the shot of the poster, that was one of the test samples, it has slight green tinge. The printer has corrected that and will move the graphics 1" to the left, for centering.

 

I finally got both side panels done and hinged on the right side. Buckles and louvers tomorrow !

Thanks for the kind comments, my friends ! I dug out my old louver press, that belonged to my late friend and mentor Jerry Hill, and put it to work. Quite frankly, punching louvers is not fun for me anymore, especially when doing parts you have some time in, it's nerve racking. All and all, they turned out as planned. The rear axle is getting the final machining today, I hope to be assembling the quickchange this weekend, as time is running short. More later.

Wow! This car just keeps getting better and better! I really admire the fine work you do and can only imagine the crazy number of hours you have put into this re-creation. So glad I got to see it in person, there are so many details to admire. You are a craftsman in the truest sense of the word!

The rear axle adventure is nearly over, my thanks to my friend Lester Knorr for finding the time to machine this masterpiece live axle. It will be under the car today.
