Event Coverage 2019 Meltdown Drags

I attended every year the event was held. Truly an amazing show every time. Great cars, races and people. Hope to see it return one day.

I am sad that it sounds like a lot of guys are sounding like " Well it was nice while it lasted" The track is continuing the event and it sounds like they are going to try and keep the criteria the same. I hope everyone will continue to support this event whatever its name is , because if you do not it will die and it will just be another memory. Car events are drying up all over.. If you where planning to attend and maybe even building a car to race then post it here or start a build thread and spread the word and keep the excitement of this event going! Meltdown drags/ glory days, what they call it does not matter but what they do at the event does! Larry

 

I will be there car show, Swapmeet etc. Hope we have dry and cool weather and they get the gate and cars to keep this going forward.

 

Here's the latest pre-registration info. Looks like very little will change from The Meltdown. The cutoff year, (and lee way in year), is exactly the same, along with the same criteria, and the same era correct look, (with continued emphasis on the correct wheels).

 

That's great news. I was concerned the track would change things. I'm in.

Ahh what the hell. We will fire them an email and see how it ends up. It’s almost become a tradition to go with all the fellas. I know Dad really appreciates the event weather we race or not. Getting to participate in the show is just icing on the cake. I’ll set the alarm for 12:01am.

Well here it is my new project might as well just put it out there I guess I'm gonna give them an email as well gammz hopefully they will let me bring this pile up there as it should be done in may just in time for the season to start you better have your a game on cause this bad boy is gonna be awesome it's just too bad Saltflats retired the salt shaker because all he would be seeing is the tailights lol

We entered for the out a site drags. You guys should sign up for that one also. We will be trying to enter 3 for glory days. Hopefully 2 get in

Cool project Jackson! Please tell me your going to address that font wheel well location. Altered well base cars are awesome, but it is always cooler when they relocate the wheel wells to match the wheel base. lol But no matter what it will be cool to see you there with it. Larry

 

Well Larry this is a recreation of the terry Ivey poison Ivey dodge and that's the way it was just remember these afx cars were kinda crude when they were originally built I have many pics of this car And the family's blessing to build it here is a pic of the car with terry driving it

 

That is way cool that your building it the way it was Jackson. I just suffer from compulsive body line disorder, which comes from to many years of having to build show cars for people! lol Keep us updated as you go. Larry

 

Just sent my pre-registration in for The Glory Days Drags.

Has anyone seen a pre-registration date for the Pie Crust Drags? Has a pre-reg. date even been set, yet? My pre-registration email is sitting in my computer, all ready to send in for USPEC. Just waiting to send it in.

Got the same reply. However, mine originally showed "No Content". For some reason the message did not show up until I tried to forward it.

 

We didn’t get a reply from glory days. Maybe ours didn’t go through. Time will tell
