Some people have very odd ideas about what is elegant. The hit/miss ratio in this thread is pretty shaky. Just sayin.

I'd say anything Rick Dore builds should cover it.

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg I'm pretty sure this beauty was owned by British actress Diana Dors.

  6. There is a difference between a coachbuilt body and a customised factory car.;)

Yes there is,......but the original post was to show elegant customs and if that car isn't elegant and a limited run coachbuilt car isn't custom then I stand corrected. I'm not sure if the interior is as it left the coachworks either, I have a feeling it may have been done to order, which would make it custom.

This one changed my minds in finding a 40s car. A few months later I found my 46 Buick Sedanette

Do you have any more info on this coupe? Love it!
    .
Has it been sectioned, or is that just the camera angle?

Those gaudy, overdone "customs" came about when car show judges got lazy and started awarding points for each modification with no regard for the overall effect.

Sam and George sure had different tastes in styling... Sam's were among the best ever!
