Don't know but I think Jim Sibley might as he's in Spokane.
Haven't see any Sibley activity here for a while though.

That's his avatar photo too. I'm almost certain that photo was taken at Ellensburg when they still used a taxiway for racing, prior to being allowed to use a runway. It could have been Deer Park, a runway drag strip also, but I think it's Ellensburg. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

Jack Germain the guy who owned the vette also campaigned a blue 37 Chevy coupe which stated off in C/G with small block Chevy and eventually ended up in A/G with a big block Chevy. Car was named Running Bear. He was a regular at Detroit Dragway.

Beautiful photo taken at the "old" Mission Raceway in British Columbia, Canada. Black and white photography is always much sharper/clearer, and should be used more often, even in this day-and-age. JMO. And, the 55 Wagon, Casper, is still being raced to this day, but has undergone updates.

I haven't gone through the whole thread, don't know if this has been posted. Good video about the end of m/p racing.

I agree that it was worth watching. When I attended my first drag race in the mid 60s cars that ran in gas and altered were probably my favorite. Gas diminished a bit with the onset of funny cars IMO but I still loved modified production. When Modified eliminator came along it was arguably the best cars to watch (and hear). I got married and was going to college but a buddy raced his Camaro in Modified Eliminator and I still went to the track occasionally to watch him (and the early Vettes to be honest). The sound and antics were the greatest. There are some naysayers on the HAMB that were never there that apparently do not believe the RPMs those guys turned. It is a sound I will never forget. Unlike any other drag races, I remember when the Modified guys came up to the line, the fences were filled with racers and fans alike that could not get enough of it. I went down to Alabama a few years ago and drug back the incomplete remains of an old Vette that ran in Modified and it always brings a smile to my face when I walk by it (including this morning).
