We are happy with our 3W
I would like a B400 as it reminds me of my 1929 Chev Landau Sedan

I like them all, you don't see many panels and I think this one is so clean. 16658907026_07a24b1c31_b.jpg

I saw this at the Lonestar Roundup last year and thought it was so cool. I coud see myself in that, it would suit me just fine. Lonestar-2.jpg

My favorite deuce is the one where you feel about 10 pounds lighter afterward and the t.p. is clean on the first wipe.

3 Window Larry"s is my all time favorite...

  10. I got my first deuce much later in life than just about all of you. 40 Ford's were and still are a passion of mine - I could never afford a deuce in those years. Well, I got my first, my avatar around 1999 and it is alot like this one ....

I bought my avatar as a roller and it took awhile to figure out how I was going to build it. It too was a 5-window that had lost its top sometime before me with a fiberglass liftoff top on it when I bought it - someone was trying to make it into a cabriolet of sorts but I made it more of a fenderless roadster, one that would look something like the 32 cover car on one of Don Montgomery's books. I had a flattie/5-speed in a 40 coupe I had at the time and I duplicated that with an open drive banjo rear, F100 steering and front brakes, bugs and littles, trying to stay mostly traditional but made mods to satisfy my plan for it to run long distances and at speeds front 70-85 mph - and it has done just that.

I have a 5-window almost done, the build being chronicled here on the Hamb, and the jury is still out still on whether I will like it. My avatar has been THE most fun car I have ever had in my life so how will this new 32 stack up? Don't know yet .....

So, there you have it - 2 deuces. I do like 5-windows (and both deuces started out that way) and I will say my wife likes my avatar more so than my old 40 coupe. But, I will keep my 40 cravings alive with my wife's 40 pickup build which is 40-50 percent done at the moment but has been on the back burner until the 5-window is done.

Having the opposite problem than Danny (needing to REACH the pedals and be able to see OVER the steering wheel - LOL!), I really have the best of all worlds - 2 32s and a 40 pickup, and the only hot rods I own. The 40 pickup is probably the best looking Ford pickup ever built and the deuce - well it's the deuce so what more is there to say?

Bottom line, roadsters are really a blast to drive but a 5-window just screams hot rod cool to me .....

It's a bit obscured in my drawing- I love the aussie sedans. They have wood in 'em. But they are gorgeous and rare these days. Ash has one here in Adelaide, toolin' around, so fine..

I’ve had two 2dr Sedans that I really liked but this 3 window tops them. Easier for my 6’3” frame to get in and out of.

    Maybe it’s not anyone’s favourite.....

Although if you posted some photos we might like it. ( okay, - that’s my way of saying that I don’t know the car that you are talking about and please post some photos ).

upload_2020-9-30_4-29-35.png This photo popped up in a recent computer file clean out from those early photojournalist days... Now, the files are all in one separate folder for similar photographs. Organization does it every time... and brings some nice surprises along the way.

    Hello,

This 1932 Ford Phaeton is the one my wife and I would like to own. When I was taking photos, the scene and the atmosphere just said cool, hot rod. It was the nicest 32 Ford phaeton that I had seen. It was a pleasure taking photos, once we got to this scenic overlook to the background San Gabriel/San Bernardino Mountains. Did I mention it was one of the coldest days in So Cal? My jacket was not enough to ward off the cold and it was the HOT scenic background, the 32 Phaeton and the people involved. The atmosphere was there, so the cold was not as noticeable.
    upload_2020-9-30_4-30-35.png
It was one of my favorite photo shoots and for many years in the digital format years, this 32 Phaeton was my large screen saver on my home computer and laptop. Even in the heat of the summer, looking at this photo made the NOW, seem a lot cooler than it was. The clear skies are what normally we would see everyday. But, the local fires have put a damper on this view and for that matter, any view towards the local mountains. Well, there is always the ocean views or just plain old visits to the shoreline to keep things calm and cool.

It was just one of those moments that will last forever. The digital photos will continue to make it so. If it is on your laptop or desktop computer, or any device, and not just a copied photo from the internet, then you can actually say that it is a real screen saver. During these rather hot days in So Cal or elsewhere, the "cool" screensaver will give your body/mind a change of pace and actually make it cooler in the room you are in at the time.
