Cougar? I'm not even sure that's a grill. Maybe it's the back of '66 Chevelle. (one of my all time fave body styles btw). https://i.pinimg.com/originals/74/ef/c0/74efc0253468029891d0033780bf64de.jpg
s55Mercury66 gets the chicken dinner,,, It sure looks like a 1962 Fairlane. With the shape of the front bumper (recessed center compared to ends of bumper),,,. Also the front lip of the hood,,, Other clue is the one inch wide strip at top and bottom of grill.
I’m sorry I was speaking of the TBird ( link ) image that was For Sale not the black and white image . I have no idea about the black and white photo . The link image, the car in the back ground I’m again betting its a Cougar . Again I’m so sorry there are 2 images I didn’t clarify my guess well enough before shouting out winner .
The fact that the slice of grill behind the T-bird is something 60's is enough without having to know what model. No doubt the 'Bird gets you plenty of attention. I guess I'm swimming against the current, but that's not enough to make me want to own it or drive it. I'd also bet money there's a Ford or two rolling over in their grave right about now.
The size of the T-Bird just screams PhotoShop. Besides, who would do that to a stock bodied Bird? Looks like it's set up for plowing...
The one for sale has a '37 Ford V8 60 tube axle under it. And the transverse leaf spring seems to be under the stamped-and-welded lower radiator core support. Really should be a tube crossmember...
99.9% of the early t-birds out there are stock. Which to me, is boring. So I like seeing them turned into kustoms or gassers. I think this looks cool (even if it is a photshop)
I grew up in San Jose Ca,we had straight axle car everywhere as a kid,Vettes Nomads,Mustangs Road Runners ,every thing you could think of.Not sure if I every saw and tbird, but that was only in Cali.
Idonnow,,, I really like that look, brings back lots a good memories of the cars the ran around my neighborhood as a young teen. I'm real tempted to build something like that now. Might ruffle some feathers but so be it. Mitch.
I can dig a tough looking Bird but to me they speak more towards elegance (think Somers in AG), while the early Vettes are right up there with the Willys for bitchin' drag looks.
I love that long legged bird! If I had funds I'd pick up that one shared on here and put it back on the road. nosebleed stance here we come, all those purists look away!
Not saying the car is a photo shop. Saying the picture of the car was photo shopped into the street picture.
