I have my gas tank Frankinstein welded back together, looks like shit but as long as it doesnt leak I'm happy. I filled it with water and it held 8 gallons I was surprised.I am still going to add a tank/filler on top to hold another gallon plus. image.jpg image.jpg

That should give you a range of 150 +. But with lack of weight, taller tires and less wind resistance you might get better than the 17 mpg my 230 gets pulling my business coupe around.

Yeah I was thinking about 15 mpg so with the eight gallons I have now that would get me 120 miles. That should be enough but I'm still going to add the top tank/filler.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg I rolled out a top tank/fuel filler tonight. Looks like a submarine now! This should give me an extra few gallons .

Wow, I was thinking a cheater filler neck ala the Donahue/Penske Sunoco Camaro, not a whole other tank on top, haha. Yup, that should do it.

Had some time this afternoon to build some fuel tank mounts. I had some pieces of model A tie rod left over so I threw a bend on it and mounted it off the seat riser tube.

Havent had time to work on much but I did get my top tank welded to the bottom and the lid is welded and ground. I will get it all welded and take it to my local radiator shop to test for leaks. image.jpg I picked up some farm-all red paint so it looks like it came off a tractor.

I sure hope theres a track nearby to get some Yahoos out after this is done. I know it's going to be a streeter but I'm sure you want to have a go at it in its comfort zone of the yesteryear.

Great stuff Rusty and Happy New Year to You and your Family.

Thanks stogy, been sort of slow going lately. I got invited to a small traditional show across the state in Sioux Falls S.D. In early March. I need to get busy and make it one piece again!:D

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Doesnt look like much but this was an all afternoon project. I built an inside subrail that will sandwich the body tin. Cutting, fitting, bending, drilling and bolting.

  27. tedious job for sure. Looks great though.

I was thinking the same things. It would have taken me more than one afternoon to do that if I worked at it long enough to make it look that good.

I have the front wishbones, spring and front end painted. Time to let it cure and then bolt it all back together. image.jpg
