Ingenuity is no longer permitted in drag racing at NHRA National Events, which is why every Pro Stocker, every Funny Car, and every Dragster looks exactly like all the rest of the cars in their class. My contention is that if all the cars in the NHRA Pro Classes were painted flat black, and had no decals, even the drivers would not know which is their car...

Mine too! Every week I took my lawn mowing money and bought another kit for the ridiculously expensive price of $1.75 and If I couldn't afford a 1/25 scale I could get a 1/32 scale for $.75.
AMT had the best kits.!

George, absolutely so very true. Gone are the days of invention, innovation, and experimentation...
rear engine funny cars, multi engine dragsters, long and short wheelbases, Cars that looked like "real" cars.
Men of insight and innovation... Alley, Valasco, Waterman, Hill, Arias, Warren, and so many more.

 

So is that a fresh trainload out of GM Doraville back there?
