    Happy anniversary
Even as a child, I noticed and liked the 1939 and 1940 Ford Coupes. In addition to the great overall persona of the car, a couple things in particular struck my fancy... the reverse curve where the roof transitions into the deck lid... As opposed to a crease... the long and bulbous decklid itself and the massive looking, thick, deeply grooved rubber covered running boards. Much thicker... top to bottom... than any other cars I can think of. And most other rubber running board covers seem to have finer grooves.
    Beautiful car...

The closest "Nationals for '40 Fords" here in the South is the Moonshine Festival in Dawsonville, Ga. in late October. The event has been down some the last couple of years due to the weather & construction, but it's always been the largest gathering of '39-'40 Fords in the eastern US & possibly the world. And why not. With it's popularity with moonshiners & the formation of NASCAR, there is no other car that represents the South than the '39-'40 Ford coupe.

That car is just beautiful! On cars that are done right, some of the not flashy factory colors are killer.

It was fun to park my blue '40 next to the black one at the Outriders' Picnic. The two cars differ considerably in style, but have many of the same details -- especially at the rear:

^^^^^^^^^ You’ll never get two nicer converts together.

  24. I'm still pretty jealous about the new acquisition. I told Tami to reach out to Lynn, and figured he'd help somebody out there become the new caretaker.

I got my '40, "Nuthin' Fancy", some new shoes for our anniversary! I'm excited to put some miles on the Bias-look radials! I've heard good things about them. IMG_20181216_123119_922.jpg

  29. Harvey Ragsdale's old '40. I know that Jack White had it, when I first remember seeing it around Springfield, then he sold it to David Libby, and I think that Harvey bought it from him. Harvey did some questionable modifications to the car.

Wish ya the best with it, and plan to bring it out on the SWMO Hot Rod Hundred with us in April.

I’ll absolutely be there in April! Always wanted to come to that event but didn’t have any contacts...

The car seems well built but does need a few things ironed out. There is just a touch of street rod in it that I will change but the thing is fun to drive! Flathead and a T-5 make it very streetable. First I have to get rid of all the rats nests.
