  1. Wow...we just moved from a 1937 Colonial in Old Rosedale and into a 1959 Mid Century Modern Ranch off 5 mile and Farmington

I'm thinking about it, I just don't want to overdo the engine color.

That's funny, because we just moved from 6th and Farmington in Burton Hollow Woods, big ass house, small garage, and neighbors that didn't dig old cars being worked on. Now we're in a smaller house with a way way bigger garage. And half my neighbors are Hot Rod or a sore muscle car freaks. I love it over here.

Had to step away from the chassis for a little bit, so I went ahead and mocked up my dash cluster. It started out as a box of miscellaneous parts that I bought at Hershey piece by piece. Late twenties Studebaker face bezel and glass, with 60s style Stewart Warner's. Had to enlarge the two outside holes to accept the rings of the gauges, which come in from behind to give it a little cleaner look. The shape of the gauge bezel mimics the 32 however quite a bit larger. I'm on a budget, and I managed to put this together for just under $200. 20181023_181104.jpg 20181023_181104.jpg

there's a steel flat panel, I mounted the gauges to that and then placed the face over that, effectively sandwiching the gauges in place. Back Looks good enough that I'm not ashamed , and bad enough that I'm glad it won't be seen. LOL

Got my cowl steering sorted out and installed. A body molar box, 40 pickup column and A lot of steel support. Special thanks to fellow HAMB member Dave at throwback designs, he made the Pittman arm, tube and flanges as well as the awesome cast aluminium blister. Nice stuff. It's a sturdy set up, and I'm very happy with the outcome 20181108_182226.jpg 20181109_155839.jpg 20181110_084926.jpg 20181110_084930.jpg 20181108_182226.jpg 20181109_155839.jpg 20181110_084926.jpg 20181110_084930.jpg 20181111_150142.jpg 20181109_193928.jpg 20181110_084900.jpg 20181113_144431.jpg 20181113_144436.jpg 20181113_144446.jpg 20181113_155132.jpg

Getting close to blocking and sealer. Wheel arch raised 2 inches, was a little challenging getting character lines to meet up and look good narrowed. I'm happy with the result. 20181130_223612.jpg

Maybe not a beater, but something I don't have to wash and wax every time I take it out. I want to spend more time driving, and a whole lot less time cleaning. LOL

Took it for its first road test today. 29 degrees outside this morning so it wasn't a long drive. 20190111_212241.jpg 20190101_103611.jpg 20190106_150114.jpg 20190106_150106.jpg
