I load everything off my phone and get a kick out of picture view numbers. Shoot me ‍♂️. It’s starting to get pretty so I’ll load em up big going forward. The 2019 GNRS push is in full effect.

Had to bend the swan neck to clear how much lower the Pierce Arrow dash is. 0091C5CC-3967-4180-9CCB-7F07DB9B55BB.jpeg

Interesting brace in the body there. Is that a stock piece, or something you've made up? Also, re the shackle pins, at least the threads are fully formed all the way up. I had some that sort of petered away to nothing. The supplied nuts would just turn. Junk. What you did with the castle nuts and the drilled holes is a nice touch.

The adjustable brace is not stock and on 32's the rear quarters don't have a lot of rigidity which leads to body lines not matching up and even paint cracking in spots. This shores up some of that problem and will be covered with the rear quarter door panel.

Hope you and your Dad are well out there..tell him Matt aka Big Bad Orange back in Detroit says hello..and you build is bitchin! I know I’ve said it, but I’m proud of ya kid..I think you barely had a license when I first met ya out there and ya built your first VW

    Hey Matt!
No, that is not Bill's car. Funny story about that car is that it had been sitting, painted, on the side of my uncle's garage for about 40 years. My buddy wanted to get back into VW's and I hit my uncle up after years of various members of the family trying to get it and low and behold that day was my day. It is a 58 euro spec rag top that was painted in 78 so of course the interior is an off white color and the decklid is louvered. It is a time an absolute time capsule. Bill is actually moving to Tennesee next year. Big hit for DKP as I have always though of him as the Prez!

Thanks man! If you ever travel back out here I owe you a beer :)

Damn Bill leaving So cal...he’s a native..TN is gonna be a drastic change. I thought maybe he’d move here to be near his Wife’s Family..that’s the last time I saw him. I drove up to Saginaw and had lunch with him. I gave him a copy of Skateboarder Magazine that had his name in it from a contest at Big O skatepark, and ya that will be a hit for the Club. I wonder if he’ll take the VW’s with him..wow that’s a shocker..tell all the boys out there hello and yes if I get back out there we definitely will catch up! Merry Christmas to you and your Family

Are you painting over the powdercoat/body filler or?

It was powdercoated first and now being body worked. So the powdercoat is actually kind of like the first layer of a heavy fill primer so to speak. I am leaving some of the age marks on this frame as it earned them and decided to powdercoat to get all the nooks and crannies. This leaves a bit more time and focus for what is going to be seen more specifically such as the sides and tops of the frame rails visible once fully assembled.
