  2. Interesting picture, 7 digit California plate. This plate was issued in 1980, it was blue with yellow letters. 7213881526_3ba5b310c6_b.jpg

  3. Google says it was taken in 1984!
The signs look pretty recent, not 50's, but the overall look IS certainly late 50's!
    It's easy to be fooled.

I owned a Greeves Scrambler when I was 12 years old. I paid $20 for it [from mowing laws]

Mine had a 250 Villiers engine , an unknown telescopic front end plus a tiny little seat [that looked homemade]

I used to ride it around an abandoned quarry [1/2 mile from home] and eventually got it taken off me by my parents when I pushed my luck riding on the streets.
Dad was a Speedway racer back then ,and always had neighbours complaining so he didn't need his sons aggravating the situation

I also had a 67 sprite trials bike with a 250 Villiers engine , that was a load of fun. [I was a lot older then]

They were worthless uncompetitive bikes back then [I should've kept them ,but I grew up]

Thanks for that mate,I knew one of those blokes in the pic was Joe Pirrotta but didn't know Carawana was in with him!...:)
Did Pirotta or Carawana live in Fairfield for a while and got into Top Fuelers?Just remember walking past a blokes place years ago who had a green one in his garage,I did stop and talk to him but I can't remember who it was!..

No Al, they came from Springvale Victoria, you might be thinking of Joe & Ben Gatt. Joe Pirotta was also known for this Bucket.
