I made my 26 T RPU look even more like a Hot rod today.

What a guy and what a nice hot rod.
Well done Doug, I take my hat off to you and your group.
I hope it raises lots of funds for the Charity.

20181018_165022.jpg Just took my 27 RPU around the block for the first time. Such a blast! Does anybody have a cowl door/ fuel door that they want to sell? Cheaper the better as I have little money in this thing.

I got an all original 27 coupe. I love parking next to my dads hot rod 26 coupe at car shows. Its hard to believe it started out as the same car.

I asked this question way back when I first got onto the HAMB but didn't know how to add the photo. This piece came with my wood kit for the top. Does anyone know where it goes? It measures 45 5/8" long and is 1 5/8" x 1 1/8" in cross section and straight as a board. IMG_1143.JPG

Hey! I just did my window kit for my '26 coupe. That same piece came in it. I held that piece up all over the car and couldn't figure out where it went either. I found nothing like it when I first dismantled the car. I thought all the wood was there except the package tray. The package tray was gone when I got the car. Maybe it is part of that.
The car is done and the piece is on the work bench. So, I guess it's not all that important. I would be interested in its use also.

Those illustrations of the wood kits are of no help at all. The problem is that most of us are starting with incomplete cars and not original survivor types. Any restorers out there?

Is your coupe an all steel body as were most of the 26's.
The 27' however from what I have heard had less sheet metal and more wood around the rear and 1/4 windows.
I'm wondering if it maybe a rear window part, otherwise from my wood kit which was a disaster from Snyders and took many hours of woodwork (which I hate) to get any of it to fit right.

The pic of the piece you show is not enough to be conclusive, but does look similar at least to the piece of wood that sits above the windshield/visor in the roof.

Keep sharing and we will get to the bottom of it.

That's not it. Every other wood piece has some curvature but this one is straight.
