I have a 37 Plymouth that I'm swapping the motor in. The factory steering box looks like it sticks out far enough to interfere, has anyone changed the steering setup to gain more clearance? Is there a more compact box that can be used, that's still traditional?
Depending on just how big the incoming engine is, you might have to mount it offset to the passenger side. This is not an uncommon thing.
Thanks guys, will look into a truck box, I have one from a 42-47 big truck are they any good? Will see if I can offset the motor, I think it would be a tough one.
"Butch's Cool Stuff" in Dayton has an off-set kit that may be just the thing for you. Google him. Excellent people over there...It comes with a Transmission off-set cross member as well... Good Luck
