You got to start somewhere! Now to plan a build. I've always wanted a period correct Hot Rod! The research begins. Drove through a blizzard in Nebraska to fetch this one. 900 mile round trip all in one day...
My only question is, is it a Cabriolet or 5 Window Coupe?

  2. Looks like a 1932 Chevy coupe. HRP

  3. Why would you think it might be a cabriolet? A cabriolet is a convertible with roll up door windows.

Well I'm with HRP, that isn't a Ford but it is a 5 window coupe. As the others said a Cabriolet has solid mount windshield, roll up windows and fold down top.
This snagged off the net photo shows a 32 Chevy firewall on a pretty stock 32 Chevy 32 Chevy.JPG
By looking at this the dash matches the 32 Chevy thing.. Hope you are real good at wood work. Photos got reversed when I added the dash photo. 32 Chevy dash.jpg 32 Chevy.JPG

That's what I thought but a friend of mine notice the rumble seat and said he thought it might be a Cabriolet, I told him cabriolets had soft tops. Thanks

I've got a lot of learning to do but this is the way I got it, and this is the way the guy I got it from got it, so not sure if the cowl is the one that originally came with it. Someday I hope mine will be as nice as yours! Thanks.

  12. The firewall is correct for the body, it is a Chevy 5 window coupe. HRP

Nothing wrong with having a traditional hot rod 32 Chevy coupe outside of they have a serous amount of wood. You don't have to listen to Ford guys bitch about your having a Chevy V8 in your 32 either lol.

I'll make a note of that, DAD.

  16. I'm not a authority on Chevys so I am unsure if they built a Cabriolet, they did make a roadster. HRP

Could be a 32, I was told it was a 31 by the person I got it from. But I know the identification plate is by the passenger side door seal next to the seat. And it's mounted on a wooden floor. Who knows where the tag is.

Good point! I've certainly heard people say friends don't let friends Drive Fords! But I like all the hot rods!

  24. If it's a 31 and I suppose it could be the visor is missing, the firewalls for both years are almost identical. HRP

Put a 8BA Flathead in it and tell the Chevy guys “I thought it was a Ford when I brought it home”.
