Hey there fellas, I am new to the hamb. Names Frankie. I am from southern California I have a small body shop classic car enthusiasts since I was a kid. I see my 4 kids so interested it's amazing.
I am currently getting a 47 Lincoln on the road. And I just got a 50 merc. These cars were seriously doa upon arrival. Everything is missing . I see it as a perfect platform to a custom car. I'll post updated progress photos as I go. 20181029_010455.jpeg

  3. Well, I guess you don't need a hoist to work on it! Looks really solid. As shoebox owner, I'd love to see a pic of the Merc. Welcome to the HAMB. Keep us updated on your progress.

Hey thanks man. Yeah this forklift comes In handy lol this Lincoln is decent but this merc I got is rough. Really bad. I got it in storage. But I'll post some pics the frame is cracked in a few spots. I don't trust it so I am looking into a gm car to replace the floor pan and frame. So I can channel it make it run and chop it . All in due time. I am currently sub framing this Lincoln with a 70 nova sub frame with power steering and disc brake. 12 bolt rear diff and a eBay 4link. Hopefully it holds up. I am boxing the rear frame and then I can set the motor and trans in and figure out steering next. 20181110_194355.jpeg 20181110_194409.jpeg 20181027_181941.jpeg 20181027_183419.jpeg 20181029_010556.jpeg 20181029_010455.jpeg

If the look will be traditional but the mechanicals won't, just avoid the non-trad stuff in your posts. :)

What s up Mike, I've been looking at some posts and seeing the merc talk and there's people talking about clipping and how dick Dean would swap frames and no one ragged in those posts.
Do you have any pics of your shoebox?

  10. Hi Frankie. Good point about the content in some of the threads. I just keep my mouth shut! LOL! Scroll down in this thread to see pics of the Big Black Ford.

  11. I think you'll find that thread is now locked.

Several years ago, due to people not respecting the rules and being loose with what they posted/discussed, the owner of the site decided to tighten up the policing of errant posts and subjects. When a thread from say 2012 gets dug up and has OT material, it either gets deleted or locked, depending on how OT it is or whether the thread has some good in it.

Ok so let me get this right, I am not allowed to share what I am building. Because it's clipped?

  13. I'm just a member, not a moderator, so it's not up to me. All I can do is give fair warning.

My suggestion would be to avoid showing or talking about anything contentious, like clips, EFI, etc.

This place has it rules and they get enforced. Sometimes people get wadded up over a thread deletion, but it's all laid out clearly in the rules.

I'm not arguing, I think I've said all I can or need to at this point.
