  4. Probably...but many tri 5 hot rods didn’t rely on a straight axle in the Gas Classes or Junior Stock Classes

I don't know about the rest of you, but this single photo of a silver/black 55 Chevrolet is way better than Viagra (not that "I" need that!!!) I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

The heading for this page is Tri-Five Gassers and gassers have /G as their class designation while Junior Stockers are /S (and the lower end of the alphabet ahead of the slash). Not to hard to differentiate without a rule book.

  21. Holy Shit...look at some of the cars on this thread..they are modern interpretations of Tri Five gassers...should they be included?
I guess in order to keep some of you happy I’ll start another thread call Tri Five Drag Cars..can I at least get an “atta boy” for posting up mostly pictures of actual vintage Tri five drag cars....jeez...tough crowd...

The point is that they are at least gasser look alikes or clones whereas the photos that you are posting are of stockers. I will reiterate my point--the name of the page is Tri-Five Gassers not stockers or is that too hard for you to understand? Do you feel that it is OK to post photos of 32 Fords in a thread dedicated to Model T's because they were both made by FoMoCo? And before you start giving me a rash of crap remember that I did not start this discussion. I am simply supporting Mark's comments.

For the record. There were a lot of 55 Chevy-s that raced C/Gas that were just about stock bodied cars with steel fenders, A arms and ham center section rears that just had 327 engines and a 4 speed. The recently mentioned Modified Stock class wasn't raced on Long Island at West Hampton and Islip Speedway mid 1960-s. The reason 55-6-7 Chevy-s were the choice for Gassers was they took later Corvette parts without a chassis shop and you had a fast car.
Coney Island Ralph's C-Gas Chevy was pretty much a stock body as I recall.
