I'm not sure who the driver pushing the Marquette welder is but I think it was part of a 1952 promotional ad. Looks like possibly Jud Larson and Sam Hanks in the other cars.

    Thanks, Rootie!

Rodger Ward trying on a Go Kart. From some of the cars parked around it looks like this might be at a road course. Ward drove a midget at several sports car events around 1960 and a little later. Could this be at Meadowdale, Rootie?

BTW, that's Larry Shinoda of Corvette/Mustang fame standing at the far left.

Why do all of Gary Reynolds pictures show a red X instead of a picture. I’ m sure he has great pictures and I’d like to see them. Can anyone tell me what’s wrong.

    Hey OMH,
The big red X syndrome started with the demise of that photo storage company charging more money. But, sometimes it shows up if you are using a phone or smaller tablets to view HAMB. Sometimes, I use a small tablet, if handy. Also, if I am too lazy to walk across the room and boot up the laptop and the tablet is nearby. The writing is usually ok on the tablet, but sometimes the photos don't show up. So, who cares? It is usually an interim viewing, anyway. I can see all of the photos on my home computer or laptop later.

No "X" for Gary's photos. His captured photos are usually clearer than most and that is nice on the old eyes. But, they do show up on the laptop and definitely on the big powerful home computer.

  21. From David Sorensen:
"Rare picture of Don Montgomery's Cord at Pomona, 1952. Don first put a Buick straight-8 in this car, then replaced the Buick with a GMC, a Howard Cam, and a set of Hilborns. Seeking a lighter car, Don would buy Larry Shinoda's chopped deuce coupe and house his GMC in it.
