Unfortunately not but it seems to be some form of a heavily modified pickup...I did try to find more myself but come out dry...It was no doubt featured in the Mags of the time and it absolutely looks pretty darn interesting.

It was humorous that the Hits I got on the actress came up dry nothing but John Wayne.

It reminds me of an old topless land rover, but ford and cool.

One of these days another pic will pop up...maybe...Custom Car Chronicle did a write-up on some of the pics I've posted recently including this one but there were no other pics...that is not uncommon especially when they aren't the chosen few. It sure looked well done and that was pretty new parts in that Custom/Hotrod. I did find some info on the Gal...she was in several movies but not as a leading actress.

I posted this Blue Beauty from across the pond a while back...See link below.

I found this cover in search tonight and I must say it has obviously been very much cared for and it is a reflection of the fact that it's really difficult to make something so right better...;)...truly amazing as time has moved on and it still retains its vintage charm...all of it...The late owner Gerald Laing was an accomplished Artist who passed in 2011.

I believe this is @Cyclone Kevin's Hotrod formerly owned by the Late Clem Waske in a pic on a blog.

It has many unique features highlighted in his thread of resurrection...

This pic almost looks photoshopped as the Scene and Hotrod look circa mid 50s or earlier while the individual looks to be fashioned mid 60's to mid 70's

Perhaps Cyclone Kevin can give us a bit more history on the pic...

Definitely not PS..... This came straight out of Clem’s & Rae’s Album (That’s Doc’s Mom) from 1944-45, She’s standing in front of the 29 Roadster.
Clem was assigned to a destroyer (Melville), before and during the war, it was out of San Diego and Clem lived in Natl City. And Rae when he met her was in Rural La Mesa-(nothing like that now).
She worked at the Aztec Drive-In off of El Cajon Bl. Had Doc 2/27/44, so he was just a newborn around the time of this shot, her attire is pure cowgirl as up until her passing 4 yrs back horses were in her corral that Doc now looks over. The city made him remove the horses after her passing. I can’t say for certain but I believe that this pic was taken on Hwy Old 395 on the way to El Mirage, while his club was still The Road Ramblers.

Thanks Kevin that is a lot of information and thank you for that as your are very thorough in your research...

I am still a little confused as to the person in front of the car but I gather it is around 1944 and that is your roadster...

Regardless if this is your roadster it is one sharp looking Hotrod.

I reread that story on your blog and I think Paintslinger's Dad had some connection to all of this too.

    Thanks for chiming in...

A very celebrated Hotrod with a lifetime of changes passing through the motions of ownership landing lastly in the hands of Ed Iskendrian...very cool car with a personality all it's own...

It's been through the pages in this thread here and there but it's great to see its cycles of change on the road it has travelled.

Sorry for not elaborating, but the lady is Clem’s Gal & Doc’s Mom. Truly Amazing People!!!! I maintain a dialogue with Doc nearly daily.
I’m only sorry that I didn’t focus my search much earlier in my ownership of this Hot Rod. 6C0AECF9-9F6E-432E-95C4-F47010794CB5.png 6841E678-98A8-49CC-9AF3-A37FB9838843.png 93D16A01-9683-457C-94C8-B5F78F2693E6.png 8FFEE678-F078-4145-92C6-0F22ED9FA6D7.jpeg
I’ve never built someone else’s car and I get a lot of ribbing from my buddy Oz in that shot for “building someone else’s car.”
When driving that car on the lakes on its 70th anniversary of the pictures above all I can say is it is one one of the sweetest little rides that I ever had in a Hot Rod and it lacked brakes, had/has a 3 gal outboard motor gas tank and didn’t have a charging system and I got to give Elmer a ride in it.
Even though we didn’t have brakes, all he said was faster!!!!!! ;).

Nothing wrong with building someone else's car...its kind of like restoring an artwork...I am a caretaker of a modern vision of the Yesteryear and proud of it.

Your's has vintage Hotrod lineage as evidenced. Restorations of these survivors is generally a no brainer.

Nothing but compliments from my end...and glad your're having fun with it.

Thanks again for expanding on this vintage pic.

@Cyclone Kevin I saw these many moons ago and thought of your roadster...why?...they are both 28 or 29 with filled wheelwells? (actually Not sure of #7 as wheelwell area obscured) which may have been more common than I think but I dunno...When Clem began his adventure with his roadster did he start with a former jalopy racer?

...Heck I just noticed the doors on #8 are filled to...

What is even more bizarre is the Roadster on the left looks possibly sectioned...maybe #7 isn't actually a Ford but I think it is...

...Update on #7 Clarified by this pic...no to filled wheelwells

Hey maybe it's got 'T' Roofs...:D...It has a back section of cab you can see it through the windshield. I really hope another pic shows up. Perhaps your right it may be just all pickup/ranchero styled

I think #8 is what appears to be a Roadster when In fact it is a Coupe-ster. Just look at the lower cowl and lack of a reveal.
Coincidentally, Clem Did Run his on the roundly round tracks with the altered cowl, body work, so that would be after the May lakes meet. 821C0F5D-2039-450E-850C-97BB9B1D4278.jpeg
It’s the only pic that I’ve seen with it with the altered winsheild-(wish I knew where that was????)
