I bought a brand new set of CNC ported Promaxx heads that are set up for a .670 solid roller.
They are really nice castings and the machine work checked out to be right on for $ 1675.00 delivered to my house.
I thought they would be enough for my little Ford motor , but I guess not.
Put 2 guys together for a wheelbarrow race for a six pack and one guy would go have a carbon fiber wheel barrow custom built so he can win. That's just the way guy's are.

LOL !! I won't say anything else on Zak's dime about this, but I just had to say, Mike, that's twice as much as I paid for my heads !! It will work itself out.

I got my 1970 4v closed chamber DOAE iron factory ford heads to go on my 1970 DOAE ford block, so this will be on as small of a budget as it can be done. Hoping I can get my ford engine done and swapped in over winter. We’ve changed a few little things on the big block and it hasn’t responded to them at all, it has continued to run the same ET as it did last year, within .01 from last year at Lyons to this year at Lyons. I think we’re getting all we can out of the ole girl. Even put Huff in it for a pass on Friday and it ran basically the same. So it ain’t the driver either. Wish it was, learning to drive is cheaper lol.

I’m not trying to complain either, just have the wrong combo right now. Just like every other version of class racing, Small ci engine and light car is the fastest usually. If there would have been a 10lb per ci C gas class in SEGA when I started building my 57 it would have always been a small block C gas car. Lol

I know what the DOA stands for but what does the E mean after that:)

Do any of the ford guys use the exhaust port plates on these heads?

It’ll be 4.030 bore and 3.25” stroke. 331ci. And yes Huff runs the port plates on a lot of his engines, and I’ll be running them on mine too.

I built one several years back, I use the exhaust port plates and some tongues in the intake runners.
Had a Yates single four intake that we had to machine a bunch to make fit.
The flow bench guy was impressed to say the least. :)

Line lock (hurst not off brand) took a crap during qualifying so had terrible qualifying ets and had to run #3 qualifier first round. Had to heel/toe it at 7000 and spun on the slick track. No real time to do much to the car during race season, especially while building dads 55. Getting ready and anxious for race season to finish so I can change some things on my car.

Old car ran pretty good, first round pulled the wheels in all four gears. Didn’t win the round though but looked good for the fans!

We pulled the big block out of the 57 and put it over in the 55, and put the small block over in the 57. For 2019 dad will be taking over the Home Grown 57 Chevy in C gas, and I’ll be moving up to A gas in the 55 with the big block. Big changes for the upcoming season but we believe we’ll have our greatest chance for success with both cars this way. We made a front plate for the bbc to fit in the 55 and the headers from the 57 will fit with a little work until we build a nicer set later on.

Dad did well testing the 57 Friday. The carburetor we had on the little small block was too much for it but it still ran pretty decent. Mid pack ets for the first time out was good! Dad didn’t miss any gears and ran close to the et I ran with the sbc the previous pass so I’d say he’ll be a threat in no time.
