You and your friend have both paid for services and are owed finished product or money back with sent items.

I hope again for a positive outcome so you can complete your ride.

  2. You know what makes it even worse for Merlin ( and others here in general with a standing ride ) ? In this part of Europe we have had the best summer weather ever recorded. After the summer we had a great "indian summer ". Even today and next week we can expect nice dry/sunny weather. Never before has this type of weather been recorded for this time of the year.

"Merlin13", I would suggest that you contact "Charlie ny."; he may be on the "H.A.M.B." under that name and I am sure he is on "The Ford Barn" message board. I had him do a distributor for me and it was done right and delivered on schedule. The only problem I can think of is that he only does these once or twice a year, and if you need something at one of his "off" times, you may have to wait a while. He will tell you that up front, though.

For 8BA flatheads, this deal is hard to beat. 4500 trouble free miles on mine. And all MSD parts fit it. I upgraded my cap and rotor recently. https://ebay.us/tHu6sw

Been waiting for my Mallory unit for 10 months now. Have written and called Jim at least 40 times. He has responded mulitple times with: “it’s coming next week.” But it never happens. Annoying to be sure. But more importantly, I just hope he’s Ok. Jim, if you’re reading this I ain’t mad at ya. Just want what you’ve promised...

How quickly, compared to what was promised? Seems to be quite a disparity. 50% satisfied customers is not so great.

Or doesn't :) There are just so many ways around this. Sure, a small shop guy gets behind, gets sick, life gets in the way. But you shouldn't take on more than you can do. If you're behind, say so, make a waiting list, but don't take work-or money-until you are ready to do the job. Clear out the back log, set aside some time each day to contact people who have been waiting-or want to wait. Lots of good places have a two-three year back log, but they don't take your money up front, let you know where you are in line and are honest with the turn around times. Anything else is dishonest, to say the least.

Merlin13, I think you should PM Ryan at this point. And no matter how good the work is, is isn't good work if you're waiting years for the part-because it's not working for you, is it?

I'm starting to have some faith restored here...Sometimes you have to stand up and talk things out...I am again hopeful all is ironed out...and it's great to see efforts being made to do just that.
