    Metric Crescent reminded me. Years ago when metric was first arriving and we started buying metric tools. I asked my Snap-On dealer if he had any “metric pliers”, he said they don’t make them yet. After a split second went by and reality set in. He quickly called me an A-hole.

Not anything to do auto wise but the thread brought back a lot of memoirs of 50+ years of construction (electrician)shenanigans.Once on a pulp mill job we sent the apprentice to stores for a lost voltage anticipatory,the journeyman behind the counter took a look and came back and told him that somebody must have signed it out already, so much for pulling one over on the apprentice.
