Gold Coast Surfers Paradise Australia promotional "Meter Maids" in the '60s
they would put coins in your parking meter if it had run out of time, save you getting a fine
many photos were taken. I believe they still have them today but they are not as ladylike as the '60s

Bit unusual 1964 Bel Air with 6 taillights. Didn't Bel Airs only have 4 and Impalas 6?

I had a 63 Bel Air 9 passenger station wagon many moons ago, and it only had 4. But as I said that was a 63 not a 64, and it was a Canadian import so maybe Ozzy 63s had 6. I never took much notice back then.

    Saturday at the Drags:
    Hey Gary,

Nice photo of a different look to the Bixby Knolls based, Bivens and Fisher AA/FD, CHECKMATE. They were contenders and associated with Tom McEwen at one point in the team status. All three were Long Beach locals and products of the Bixby Knolls cruising/racing scene, back in the 60s. All three were graduates of Long Beach Poly HS and were regulars at Lions Dragstrip and at the local drive-in restaurant gatherings.

After rebuilding this BIG HEMI FED, CHECKMATE is back on the circuit again. I finally caught up with Jerry at the 2017 Price Transfer, Lions Dragstrip Museum Grand Opening Cackle Event. It had been 52 years since I last saw him in Long Beach. Sadly, Doug Fisher had passed on and was missing from the Steve Gibbs organized, big cackle display. The recently rebuilt FED looked and sounded as powerful as ever, going through 7 gallons of fuel in the Big Cackle.

The super loud Cacklefest was located in the huge rear parking lot. It was a time for an eye watering and instant recognition in the sinuses, with the smell of burning nitro in the air, let alone, an ear piercing experience. What a blast from the past…
