I haven't been on the Hamb for a while. Life got busy and a job change dictated not a lot of spare time.
I am currently thrashing on my current build and am undecided on whether or not to run a brake booster.
My question is can you successfully run a brake booster with a blower. I do have a vacuum port at the base of the carb.
Thanks in advance for your help.

  2. Only if you run a 'vacuum reservoir' would be my guess. You have basically two on a conventional application; the booster itself and the volume of the intake manifold plenum. You're lacking the latter one. Another choice may be an electric vacuum pump as used on a lot of diesels. I'm sure there's a way to do it, given factory supercharged cars, but it may take more paraphernalia than you have room for...

Seeing that you're in NZ, grab an alternator off a Jap Diesel with the vacuum pump on the back of it.
They're good enough to haul-up a diesel truck. [and cheap and plentiful]

I had not thought of that. I had a quick look on Trade Me and found this. This could be a good solution thanks. 20181028_144558.jpeg

  6. Slick set-up… You may want to check out how these were plumbed in an OEM application, you may still need a reservoir can.

I will put in a reservoir can. I can fabricate one up to suit available space.
    Thanks for the help.

On a Mitsy Pajero, and Nissan Mistral the vacuum is plumbed direct to the booster.
They have enough vacuum to "suck start a Harley"

They need an oil feed and drain plumbed in [similar to turbos]

That's what I'm thinking [the internal regulated Alts are easy to hook up]
Go for a sunday shopping trip to "pick a part" with your phone camera. Some are LH and some RH
