Thanks, much appreciated. I'm going to do a stocktake of what I have and what I need soon. It was bought as a project in pieces so I'm not sure what I need?
    Cheers

Taken a week out of work to go and help on my coupe. Decided to remove the rear quarters and clean out and blast the area behind.cut around behind the seams as I'm keeping those. Front fenders and rear quarters off to get blasted and epoxy finished before assembly and refit.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

That car will last another 50 years with all the hidden rust taken care of. It is disappointing to see a great classic with nice paint rusting from the inside out. Well done!

Thanks. Yes with the epoxy etch and rust proofing after painting, it should be good for another 50 years!

Thanks. The sheet metal forward of the firewall is away being blasted and put into primer. Can then hang it and gap it. Going to also blast the areas behind the rear quarters before they go back on. Ideally will then separate the body from the chassis and get into some mechanical work

And after many many years it's off for abrasive blasting and epoxy primer.
The quarters will then be stitched back onto the body along with the rear panels.
The body will then be lifted and I'll start on the chassis

  21. Beautiful work to restore the car. My '51 was not in that bad of shape but I know your frustration of hopes of a quick paint and drive to what you find when you finally start prepping it.

And finally after 13 years it's seeing some primer. I'm certainly not going to miss sanding back the bare metal and coating with keyphos every six months [IMG] [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Haha! Yeah it's about as far as it can go. Will stitch the quarters and rear back on them remove from the chassis again. Preparing to order the trans and probably engine.

Went out to do a little more work today. Got to see the underside up on the hoist. Really happy how they've turned out.
I've put down a deposit on an Olds engine and trans so once the trans arrives I'll place it, make mounts and can then finish the tunnel.
The door corners have been radius'd and the rear quarters are off for blasting before being refit. I decided to also radius the fuel filler flap as it was a feature of the 'factory custom' Ford. Looking forward to seeing how it looks in primer.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

The under body has now had the seams sealed and a coat of Wurth underbody coating applied. This will be painted black to make it cleanable.

    [IMG][IMG]
The chassis is away for blasting and will also be painted.

I've ordered my Olds Rocket and T350 trans from Tony at Ross Race Engines so looking forward to that arriving later this year.
