I actually do still own the 51 but it is in very sad shape.... and will most likely never see the road again. I personally like the center piece in there. Without it looks like something is missing... but that's just my opinion

I think it's more like a super deep one on a fat chick... sorta smells, some lint in there and rough around the edges. Haha!

I've always loved them and Leah likes it way better than the 48. I think it looks more like a "car" to her with the slab sides.

Boy, it must be in said shape if you're gonna start over instead of resurrecting your old car. Too bad; the first two pictures pictures look like they were been taken at least 40 years ago.

sorta. that short piece is the one from the front fender on a standard sedan/coupe. the fancier models have the word "custom" on them.

It was rusty when I bought it. A re-chop like 10 years ago killed it. Needs a top replacement and start over. It's bad. Needs full floors, FULL floors, every patch around the bottom and moving 4-5 times in the past 10 plus years I've misplaced all the door tops, and chop pieces I need. I have a lead on a parts car so maybe in a few years who knows. 20171025_142216.jpeg 20171012_173818.jpeg

Made a little progress today. Got the firewall fabed up and welded in, it's not perfect, the beads are a little wonky but the whole damn car is a little wonky!! Started making patterns for the floors/trans tunnel also. Slow and steady. 20180830_113619.jpeg 20180830_113118.jpeg 20180830_131426.jpeg 20180830_132845.jpeg 20180830_132858.jpeg 20180830_142057.jpeg

About 30 min worth of mallet and English wheel work after mowing. Should get it trimmed and tacked in next week. Nothing exciting sorry. 20180913_144913.jpeg 20180913_144049.jpeg 20180913_144919.jpeg

Well I made this car a little closer to my dream car today. I came across a coupe roof last week and picked it up Tuesday evening. Today I got busy working. It's just clamped on now but it fits really well and will go on super easy! Pretty excited! Got everything trimmed and started welding this week. Passenger quarter is welded. It will all need lead and filler (I'm no metal man) pretty happy though. 20181003_143709.jpeg 20181003_143721.jpeg IMG_20181003_151945_833.jpeg IMG_20181004_152109_536.jpeg IMG_20181003_162330_241.jpeg

The coupe roof section looks great! It's a big improvement over the tudor sedans, which always looked awkward to me with the faux rear quarter window. Good find!

Thank you and I agree! The tudor is a better looking car chopped but if left stock height the coupe is a way better roof line!

I said it in an earlier thread, but I'll say it again : "shoebox" coupes are the new deuce 3-windows. There really has been a lot of stuff on here about them lately.

Don't say that!! The price of a coupe is still half way reasonable! Ha!
