  1. The funny car was sent to me by Tim Wilkerson - turns out he’s our dog sitters uncle. Now to get him to drive for me .....

Here’s all the pics I have - just Friday

  4. Not really that well. I just couldn't get in a groove - was cutting .200 lights and my foot slipped off the gas coming off a big wheel stand - never got across the line or anything so that was good. Got beat 1st round by Ben Christopher when he smacked down a 5.60 on me.

The car is running a 1.24 60 foot - same as the Pale Rider - but a 5.90 at 117 MPH will not win no matter what. It seem like the valve springs are going away - can't get it to rev past 7500. Tonight its getting torn down and putting on my 2019 set of Smithberg heads. Was going to use them next year but now we want to see if the springs are weak or something. If it starts winding out to 8500 like its supposed to, then the springs are a 1 season deal.

Nice wheelies! Huge learning curve. Hope the heads fix things. Is that Ray Evernham in the last pic?

Valve springs giving up would be my guess, takes a lot to close up those big valves at 8500! Don't remember who puts it out but there is v alve spring tester that will check tension when used in conjuction with a vise and a torque wench at a fairly reasonable cost.

I see that you have a tilt front end, I like that. I have a 38 Plymouth that I would like to have one, Did you just weld the panels together ? Thanks.

  14. Gonna post these from my phone. The Aiken race has a 1pm qualifying time so most likely the gates will open by 10am maybe earlier

And then there’s this crap - broke my foot running. No more fitness for me. Done with this

Damn, is that gonna heal up enough for you to drive at Aiken?

  16. We just set the hood on the ground and drilled about 50 holes in all the places the panels met - then put small screws through all the holes. The mount is just a flat piece of steel bolted into the panels and then a bolt to a plate on the front. There's a picture of it about page 40 or something - way back there.

I don't know. It hurts like hell now so it depends on how it feels in 2 weeks. Having a cast on it sure cuts down on the lifting !

Not to be a smart ass, but Tony said he was out on a run when he broke his foot.

You Dodge guys are a tough breed. I have all the respect in the world for both of you. In a world full of belly button engines, you guys have the stones to do it your way.

Although I gotta say I looked up Dodge in the dictionary and it says "to avoid" ... so there's that...lol. ;)

  22. You know in horse racing they have a claimer race where someone takes your horse home- I’m trying to not get claimed!! If I get fat no telling where I’ll end up.

You’re killing me! Will you be here all week? Tip your waiters and waitresses!
