I’ve been a member since 2010 but the bulk of my time here has been spent lurking. This past Sunday I took my most recent build on it’s maiden voyage, there’s still a few minor details to wrap up but it’s close enough to share with the HAMB.

My vision of what a Sport Truck might look like if Chevrolet built one in 1958. It’s probably best described as a mild custom.

The lowered stance comes from a ‘75 Nova front sub and an axle flip out back. The power train consists of a ‘74 454, TH400 and a Mopar 8.75 “Sure Grip” with 3.55 gears.

The sheet metal is basically stock with shaved door handles, mirrors, emblems and cowl. The firewall and dash were also shaved. The paint is a ‘63 Chevrolet color called Laurel Green with Lexus pearl white on the roof.

The interior is fully custom. Other than the seat, everything was done at home in my garage.

There’s far too many details to mention but feel free to ask if you have any questions.

    Enjoy...

    Eye candy for sure!

By the way, I had one of those S/W tachs in the mid 70's that I bought used and could never get it to work, they were/are like a piece of art, just beautiful.
I shed a tear the day I threw it in the garbage, wish I had saved it just to look at.

That sir is one of the slickest and cleanest builds on a TF that I have seen in a while. All the right stuff and no extra fru fru that a lot of truck guys seem to want to tack on now. Well done.

  6. So where’s the drywall and construction debris??
It IS a work truck right?

    That thing is sweet!!
    Any build pics ?

The tach is a modern piece made by Speedhut with custom artwork to match the retro SW Greenline gauges. Even with the added fee for custom artwork on the tach's face it was about half the price of the SW

so, as I scrolled down and saw that first (and best) pic...no lie... I said "Holee... SHIT!

I don't recall one that makes me feel like I'm seeing a "late 50s early 60s Autorama winner", like this one does. The whole thing is just stunning.

What a beauty, also coming from a Ford fan. :)

The "Big Block" call out flags on the front fenders are a nice touch.

Very nice. I like the trunk bezel. Sold my turquoise and white 58 a couple of months ago.

Thread title should be, " '58 Apache Built". Lottsa of Cool touches, great stance and a color combo that adds to the whole build! Please share more details/builds with us, Carp.

Im really liking this truck! That's a real beauty you built yourself, the color and height are just really spot on!

That was my first thought as well, just the right amount of restraint here, especially for a mild custom. task force trucks and tri-five chevy's especially seem to just be a magnet for whatever cheeseball accessory or flavor of the month trend the owner can throw at it, this is just a great example of a well thought out and tasteful truck.

They are stock ‘58 housings with 60-61 Chevy passenger car lenses, modified to fit
