Used a nice piece of cherry stained poplar for the base. [IMG]

After seeing that you are into the boat thing philo426 I wish that the miles between us wasn't so great because I would set you up with some boat (ship) stuff if you wanted some... I have some vintage wooden boat kits that I have acquired ,mostly sailing vessels unbuilt , partly built , lots of wooden planking, and even a couple of large , 42" class pond yachts from the 30's or 40's all wooden planked hulls no rigging, but I have a crap load , alot of, sails and rigging.... I have one vintage pond yacht that I restored and sailed that I will keep around but all the other stuff I would like it to be some place else...... here's a shot , crappy one,of some of the extra mast's, sails and rigging...if you or any one else has a interest in the stuff I can post some pics or PM them to anyone of the stuff and would make someone a hell of a deal....but I am located in Oregon so that could be a problem...or not.... just putting it out there...keep on building... Painting is going to send me to the asylum. I had this looking great. Then, at midnight
I get the idiotic idea to put one last wet, shiny coat on it. That last coat immediately went
to eating the previous coats. I pretty much saved it. Painting is going to send me to the asylum!

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I gave it a little drying time and starting sanding...and sanding.
It looks pretty good now with a coat of primer and two of color. I don't have an airbrush and
each rattle-can spray job is a trip to adventureland.

Thanks, some of the pics are grainy from resizing them in 'paint' (dialing in camera). There's a lot of individual pics in my albums.

Every time I paint, I fear 'getting committed'. The thought of the final clear...I remember the night before the Junior Prom. Instant recollection!
Paasche or not, special compressor...the inner voice: "This is not safe..."

Nope! It's the Monogram '55 hardtop 2 n 1 kit... I have that one and the indy pace car convertible version.... Both are 1/25 scale kits.... ;):)
Them guys do some fantastic work over there.... :)

You know you're looking at a model of a '55 but that thing is crazy realistic. It's kind of like
a punch to the stomach, letting me know I'll never get to that point in model building.

A little late or A little early..... anyway just returned from my brother's place and he forced some more model wooden boat stuff on me..... I hate to say no ...but what can I do with all of it..he also gives me all of the plastic car models and parts he gets also....he does estate sale's for people and farm , barn and house clean ups and have a antique and collectable shop...so he runs a cross lots of stuff.... here's a few shots of the latest things and a couple of things from earlier trips....and this isn't all of it....
