H.R. Harrell’s 1929 modified roadster set plenty of records and won many class trophies at Lions Dragstrip. It always blasted down the Dragstrip with a roar.

This Hemi motor was the power.


But, it is the 8 carbs, 8 hoses, one gas inlet bar and a longer tuning procedure to get it right. And, they got it right !!! This is one fast moving 29 roadster from Harrell Engines. The article from HRM mentions the drivers were Don Reynolds and Willie Borsch (prior to the Winged Express).

We thought our 671 SBC with 6 Strombergs in the 1940 Willys C/Gas Coupe was impressive when totally put together. The Harrell Engines 8 Stromberg carburetor set up on top of the supercharged Hemi takes the cake. The Howard Cam Finned Cover protecting the chain drive looks very impressive.

 

Great stuff jnaki, 8 carbs, blower, chain drive. WOW.

I had plans of taking a bunch of induction pictures over the weekend, but I dropped the ball.
