Pardon me there Hotrodprimer for intruding on your great question on the Deuce body style question, it is a really great one. Since there has been decades quarrelling over which year, (32, 33, or 34), Fords had/have the best styling I am wondering what car hobbyists think about the 33 and 34's also. The comparison between the 32 Deuce and the 33/34 has been argued here at length so I'm not asking about that so lets leave that discussion out on this one, just which you prefer, the 33 or the 34 and which body style?
Thanks for the great threat on the Deuce HRP, and allowing me to steal your idea.

Obviously for me it is the 34. But when it comes right down to it I wouldn't kick either one out of bed..

To participate I would have to like 33-34 Fords. ;):D

As a Deuce owner since 1970 I have long admired a nice, stock appearing ‘33 three window or roadster.

I think my main beef with them is that I strongly dislike suicide doors. Otherwise they're decent looking cars.

33 Ford-Dealership.jpg 33 Cabriolet or...…. 33 3 Window or 33 Victoria's have the best rear body shape . I prefer the 33 Grille & Hood compared to 34 . I appreciate the smokers window & Cowl vent screens in the 34's , but those can be adapted to a 33

    33 sedan delivery,then 33 three window

  11. I absolutely love the 33's and I suppose it's in part to the swept back grille shell and the single hood latch on ether side but the 34 is just as cool, they look like they are going fast sitting still.

And as a side note, I tend to think the 33 & 34 4 door sedans done up in the resto rod styling are about the coolest car out there for a family car and this is coming from a hard core 32 guy. HRP

It's funny the number of you who prefer the '33. For the reasons you like the '33 I prefer the '34. And 5W or Tudor are my two faves.

Is it even possible to hang a 34 door from the front edge non suicide, or has anyone ever tried it?

I've heard that early on, the '34 Fords were more popular than the '33s...at least in part to do with the grilles. But I like the '33s. Not only the swept/curved feature, but especially the finer look with the narrower surround and bars. Same with the '37/'38 Buick grille...I like the '37 better.
Hard to pick one model. Coupe, roadster...yes. Cabriolet...yes...kinda the best of both worlds...closed vs open. 3 window coupe I guess for a hot rod...no B pillar and the beautiful curve of the doors. 5 window for a drag-inspired car.
I do have a thing for a '33 Dodge coupe, though. I like its grille a lot too. And a '33 Hudson Terraplane!...with the splayed grille bars...beautiful. Actually, I like many of the cars and their grilles from 1933.

  20. As a 32 3 window guy , I have to say that a 33 3 window or 33 Vicky is my favorite . I do like the sweeping grill and the curved hood side vents .

  21. I'm a bit partial to '34 5-window coupes as I've owned this one since 1999.

i learned the diff of a 33 & 34 in 1956, bought a 34 cut down for $15 , mechanic at local ford dealer found a NOS 33 grill shell in attic and sold it to me for $1, wouldn't fit, later traded it for a kingpin reaming,i like both but have had 6 34's,still have 34 cabrio. [302] , 34 rdest. [331 cadillac], 34 5w cpe.[ boss 429]

  25. I prefer the 33 over the 34. I like the slimmer grille, the curved louvers and the doors. I think the 5 window coupe looks better in the 33-34 lineup over all the rest. But really, the 32-33-34 Fords look so good that even the 4 doors are spot on.

I'm surprised, there are more votes for the 33 than the 34, at least by hammers. I always heard the 34 is the most popular. Like I said in the beginning its 100% 34 for me and 99.9999999999999999% for the 33.

  29. I love em both but prefer 34's. 33's are really elegant but 34 just screams hot rod. I love all body styles, but a roadster is my absolute favorite. I feel fortunate to own two 34's at this time.
