Definitely took some finessing for the Buick side trim!
    Car looks long and lean.

I have a lot of respect for guys like Mark & Kurt McCormick that drive and enjoy their historical kustoms. It is so kool seeing them on the road and sometimes even at Coffee shops than hibernating in a museum. Thanks Mark for posting the pic...

A few of the kustoms that showed up for the second Annual Hot Rod Rock & Rumble:

Obviously "The Caddy Boys" of Denver were there...

    And Ryna Garcia's chopped Chevy...

Of course, good pal Dave Pareso was there with his Merc...

...and Rocky Burris and Jeff Meyers. Most of the Lonely Knights were there too...

  18. Here are some I took at the Hot Rod Rock & Rumble:

Also this Merc, must be an older build with more recent paint? "Heavens to Mercatroid" on the mats and trunk floor, deep button tufts, lots of gold plating in the interior... @OG lil E know anything about this one?

  19. “Heavens to Mercatroid” is the name of this custom Merc. Larry Kramer custom cars built it back in 1989 and then restored it in 1997. Mercury has air suspension, 388 cubic Chevy V8 with Tri-Power induction and a 700R4 transmission, power brakes, electric package."

Looks like it just sold at Mecum Auction in Denver June 2018......

  20. Nope, this is a new one to me. Almost looks like an old custom that crossed over to the "lowrider side". E

    chryslerfan55 and 54delray like this.
  22. Yeah, I know. But when I saw this car drive in I knew it had to be an older build. After seeing it close-up, there was no doubt. I wish I could find a photo of the original version.
Also the windshield is 1-piece, not v-butted.

  23. After I looked at the picture a little longer and @Sancho mentioned Larry Kramer the light went on. I looked through my Custom Rodders real quick but I couldn't find anything. I knew the car was red and had Barris-esc crests on the front fenders. I did a Google search and I managed to find one pic of it. This one was posted right here on the HAMB courtesy of @00 MACK.

This is the only picture I found doing a quick search. I liked Larry's version much better. E

  24. Thanks Ed! That was driving me nuts. I told Jeff at the show that I had seen it before and the front wheel openings were the dead giveaway. I just couldn't picture it and had no luck looking for photos.

Also changed out rear window and added the antennas in the redo.

  25. From the auction description it sounds like Larry did both versions.
"Larry Kramer custom cars built it back in 1989 and then restored it in 1997."

  26. Dug a little more and found some more great shots also from the HAMB. Courtesy of @realkustom51.
    Larry's Merc was the cat's ass! E

  27. Lots of changes @Sancho. Removed the third brake light and changed the grille. Removed teeth in hood scoops and changed the cool little chrome mirrors to the modern ones.
If Larry did redo the car, it was the classic custom illness of going over the top and doing too much. The earlier version hit it out of the park in awesome custom style, while the second version is a point chasing trophy hunter. E

  28. I really like that last photo you posted without the striping down the side.
