Wonder if that is Dave Mehelich of Mehelich wheels. Went back in archives..... post # 3 seems to have info https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...eels.809477/&usg=AOvVaw0Hbc25Iin0LXO7oiHAxIm7
Yes, they are one and the same. And this was one of my favorite reads in that issue, Ryan. I think you should get business cards that just have your name and "delinquent with a total lack of shit togetherness." Mehelich's '34 roadster...cover story from Rodder's Journal #56...dude knows how to make a '34 sit...
Pretty sure that's the Mehelich wheel guy. My dad sold him a car back in the 90's. Dave, if you're on here, I think it was the Pop-Dreyer replica with the Osca? Italian Offy engine.
..........................or at the very least, a HAMB/ Jalopy Journal courtesy card...........hint, hint.
I also shot a feature of that car for the now defunct "benchrace.com" right about the time it fizzled out.
Never. I think I need a business card that reads: "If we are just meeting, there's a 90% chance your first impression of me is shit. Sorry."
Regardless of the repercussions, I don't know that I'd change a thing about that trip. I still live a few humiliations from it from time to time, but all and all - it was totally worth it. I had a ball... and I'm pretty proud of that write up. I'm due another like that soon...
More than a couple guy's in the Wenatchee Valley have drivin to an "event" only to come out of the Motel/Hotel Sat. morn to see that their newly built rides where nowhere to be seen and to my knowledge still haven't been found in hole or parts. I can understand Dave's concerns......................................
So @uncle max is this pictured Flamed & Salted Hotrod yours?...just reading in between the lines...just curious...
You do bring up a dark side to the world of Hotrod/Custom/Race...you at times encounter individuals that make you think or sometimes it's the questions they ask.
...Poised to part the white sea... Glad he let you take some pics... You did a great round of Eye Candy
wish it had a shorten '35 Ford grille, ( rolled UNDER at the bottom..) MAN thats a great side view !!!!!
I bought my 3 window body from Dave in 2003, he was just starting on that car then. He said that my car was really the better body of the two, but I'm pretty sure that was a sales pitch. It had hinged doors and a decklid, mine didn't. I mentioned that I had a set of his wheels, and the rears didn't match each other. He knew who originally purchased those wheels, and said that he had bought wheels at two different times (before and after the redesign) and probably got the boxes mixed up. A couple of months later he called me up and said that he had an extra wheel, and he would trade me, so I had a matching pair. Nice guy. Dave
