Sooooo I decided to put a build thread up for my 34 coupe. I moved out of my long occupied garage (warehouse) to save money to buy a new house so I moved my tools and car to my current house.
My workspace consists of a cluttered 100+ year old basement with sketchy electricity, a battered temporary tent garage and a tar driveway. Oh yeah and its winter in New England. Progress will be spotty.
I recently had put this car for sale but pulled my head outta my ass and decided I needed this in my life so the build continues. Here's where were at. Check my albums in my profile too if you wanna see what it looked like when I built shit indoors.

Looks fine enough but there's a lot of loose ends

    20171021_113405.jpg Message_1508687734438.jpg Message_1508603992862.jpg 20171021_113414.jpg 20171021_113405.jpg
So the body came back off. That's one of my son's unbolting the body for the old man.

So the firewall was a 35 truck firewall. The edges were rotten but my buddies Jarid and Koby brought it home for me still attached to a cowl from Eli Engilsh's house and it was free so I cobbled it into a aftermarket firewall but at the time didn't finish it. I got it a little further. Side note, the cowl vent on my car is from the same donor 35 truck cowl. 20171125_105435.jpg
Its certainly not show quality but its there and is a wall against fire hence its name so fuck it.

20171126_091442.jpg 20171126_101215.jpg When the floor got welded in I never addressed the underside. It started rusting sitting in the temporary garage which is not a good feeling. So I propped it up on a tv box full of Styrofoam and on probably the last warm weekend sanded it and painted it with por15. For this incarnation of the car it'll do.

Nothing wrong with rough around the edges...after all it is the Jalopy Journal. Your stance looks right on and @adam401...please get your son some cool safety glasses. I never forget the wartime sign that hung in the old Aircraft plant I worked in...'You can always get more safety glasses but your on your last set of eyes'...

Your garage situation is unfortunate but your rolling with the punches...stuff takes time to fall into place...You and your younger Hotrodders will be soon reaping the rewards for your efforts...and thanks for sharing.

Hey, looks like you have good help, so what's the problem?! Maybe it'll be a mild winter, she's looking good.

  18. I can sympathize with your garage situation having just moved from a single car/restrictive neighborhood. I like the firewall. Resourceful, real Henry steel, fully serviceable - good job!

Thanks for the kind words guys. Haha the duece grill shell is a damaged used repop (anyone that knows me would expect nothing less) that's going with on the trashed 31 vicky I bought recently. Ill post pics of that disaster soon. That'll be channelled unchopped.
