But...but...but...it may be a nice car, but it's not a kustom...a kustom has body mods...this coupe is a stocker...still has all its emblems...no top chop, no frenched headlights, no taillight change, handles not removed...nice stocker...!!!

Except for a simple change of tail light lenses, Mox Miller's 1958 Chevy would fit that definition of "Stocker".
Yet it was an invited participant in the 2011 GNRS special event, "Then and Now", which featured what were deemed to be the top 75 most significant Customs still around today!

But...but...but...the above '58 HAS kustom paint...which is a long way from a stock black on the coop...that '58 also has kustom wheels (altho not really fitting the old image of kustom wheels - (think hubcaps)...and it has Lakes Pipes...the coop did not...!!!

I'll stick by my original assessment...that '51 Chevy coop is not a kustom...but thanx, Mo, for the input...!!!

Disagree 100% it's a MILD custom. Not all customs have to be extreme.

NO one has said a kustom has to be EXTREME to be a kustom...stop using words that aren't there...!!!

Even a "mild kustom" in my day (early 1960's) was nosed and decked, usually had a grille change, wide whites, hubcaps and skirts and lowered...however, definitions of what it mild, what is wild and what is radical and what is extreme have changed over the years...

A vehicle that has zero body mods is a stocker...my original assessment stands...!!!

straykatkustoms, the last time I watched a movie at the Victory Drive-in was in 1969. Easy Rider was playing. Thanks for the flashback ... ;)

@40StudeDude is 100 percent correct. a stock bodied lowered car is NOT a custom. real customs have BODY mods of at the very least nosed and decked

If it's lowered, it's no longer stock. If it's not stock, it's something else. That something else is called "customized". Semantics.

Agreed. That car is obviously lowered, has skirts, and whitewalls. Cant see the front wheel to see caps but that car is not a stocker. It has been customized.

I see lowered, skirts, whitewalls, cant see the front wheel to see the caps... how is that a stocker? I dont know about how they "did it in your day" but the first thing most people do to a custom is lower it and skirts. Maybe the guy doesn't have a welder. Or the money to pay someone to nose and deck it. Still doenst change that the car has been customized.

If the car was built in 1951 or 1952 time period. It is a custom in my eye`s.

He wasn't able to stay around for Saturday but still wanted to support the Kustom show. This kind of mentality will help make the Lead ain't Dead show a success. This picture was taken Thursday evening..... 100 % mild Kustom. You were not there to see the attention to detail and work involved with the build. The T Bird interior looked factory and to the ones that hadn't tried that before it's not a bolt on modification. One of my favorites from the weekend..

Lol! I have the headlight buckets, but I forgot to keep the Camaro/van inspired spoiler. I don't know anyone that would make it... Only thing that I kept was the back 2/3 of the front fenders and the roof. No wonder it looks different.....
