Are those rally wheels "the wheels you eventually intend to use?" Would be an odd choice. Metalwork looks good though.

No, they are repop 15X8 Magnum 500's that I had laying around with the size tire I want to run on the back. The plan is a steel wheel in cream color with trim rings and center caps or a set of steel wheels with full moon covers. Thanks for the compliments on the metal work. It's not great but functional.

A little more done. I made the inner lower door jamb. Still needs some finish work but it is really getting sturdy. 20180502_173058.jpg 20180502_173102.jpg

Now I'm looking for front garnish mouldings for the doors. This whole swap has really slowed down as of late. Trying to get my dad's 63 comet v8 swap finished up. Projects and more projects.

Some more measuring and finally tack welded and screwed. The tape is so I can visually see my gaps. Not sure it's how to do it but works for me. Thanks for looking. BART 20180613_184927.jpg 20180613_184930.jpg

The comet is my dads. Has a GT40p roller motor, 303 3 speed on the floor and 63 v8 falcon/comet 3.25 8 inch. Nothing too fancy but runs decent. Getting ready for some lipstick here soon. On a side note, I want to order a reversed eye spring for my 48 which has stock front steering and suspension and I was wondering if anyone could tell me the width of the front spring or how to properly measure the darn thing. I see them for sale on Eb$y and want to order one in the right length. Also, could someone enlighten me on how to remove a lock cylinder from a trunk handle that doesn't have the keys? Do you drill it out? Thanks.

Thanks Topher. I have never dealt with one of these springs. Did they all come with a grease fitting in the middle main bolt?

Pete & Jakes catalog & the Posies catalog have how to measure the spring centers. This is the page pulled from the P&J catalog. I am enjoying your build.

I have no idea if the new ones do or not. I'm using the original spring right to see how things fit together, but I believe the originals had some kind of grease fitting.

Well....a temporary set back. My t5z that I got in a trade is... well... sick. So, after a complete teardown and some medication(new parts), it's feeling much better. 20180707_220547.jpeg 20180707_220608.jpeg 20180708_133028.jpeg

Ford Granada 9 inch is in and then took a wrench break and fooled around with door panel ideas using 58 ford custom 300 side trim. 20180710_194244.jpeg

Finally got around to repairing and attaching the middle braces on the car. Really sturdied things up. Next up.... finish the trunk floor. Also, have most of the front floor done. Be kind to my puzzle pieces known as floor patches. 20180714_124208.jpeg 20180714_124202.jpeg 20180715_103112.jpeg 20180715_162123.jpeg

Did some more welding. I started to make a spare tire well but aborted that is and flattened it out that is why the odd half moon panel is in there. Also, hammered and dollied the inner webbing of my trunk lid. They must have cut it out to fix the skin and then did a really crappy weld job to put it back together. 20180719_210546.jpeg 20180718_211617.jpeg 20180718_211623.jpeg

Started to make the upper trunk weatherstrip channel. What's the saying.... measure once and cut twice then come up short. So far pretty happy with it. 20180724_193020.jpeg 20180724_201928.jpeg

Ok.....now I need some help. I've went through my parts and can't come up with a drivers door division bar for the glass. I have the passenger side but for the life of me can't find the driver's door one. Also, looking for the rear fender spats in decent usable shape. Thanks.

Got a little more done. I made the piece between the cross member and the tail panel. I dropped it like it had the tool box but mine only has the short panel. Can maybe store something in it like rags or some screwdrivers and such. 20180813_183122.jpeg 20180813_183132.jpeg

Well, I sat the engine back in with new clutch and 5 speed and thought I'd see if the little 306 SBF would fire after a 10 year slumber and a head swap. No header gaskets and valve covers just sat on so forgive the oil smoke. Didn't run it long. 20180818_184712.jpeg

I guess you'll have to trust me that it did start. Couldn't upload video from my phone. Not sure how.

Could someone show me a picture of a 48 ford with a sbf in it so I can see the radiator. My motor sits low and it seems like I'll have to drop the radiator down alot. Like to see what a Chevy motor sits like also.
