Hey fellas, I apologize for not checking in. Work and family, plus another venture have kept me ridiculously busy. I hadn't touched the car in MONTHS but finally got time and motivation to start cranking on it again.

I've been getting something done on nearly a daily basis now and my checklist is very short. Fingers crossed, itll be at the Hot Rod Hill Climb in Colorado in a few weeks.

Ha! Well, the car was so far along with just details left to do that it really doesn't look much different.

And because my 19 year old son is a dork and just bought a truck he thought he'd be cool...
    20180818_141316.jpeg

Things checked off of the list in the past two weeks:
Finish wiring harness (mount fuse box, install voltage regulator)
    Mount battery box
    Terminate power cables
Rewire generator (did it wrong the first time)
Tie up all loose grounds (tie into grounding bus)
    Radiator overflow tube
    Fuel tank vent
    Wire speedometer to transmission
    Finish tach wiring
    Seat belts
    Fusible link
    Oil in
    Trans fluid in

    Things left to do:
    Connect throttle linkage
    Connect trans kickdown
    Fill radiator
    Fill rear end (not feel)
Locate TDC, set distributor, wire cap
Connect cooling fan override switch worh relay
New ignition switch (ordered from So Cal, lost the key somewhere)
New headlight switch (ordered from So Cal, lost the shaft and knob somewhere)
Add brake fluid, bleed, adjust brakes
Install torque converter override (ordered, should arrive tomorrow)
    Test electrical
Connect horn button (ordered from So Cal)
    Put on Corvette valve covers.
    Nut and bolt chassis
    Fuel
    Fire and test drive(s)

Sure wish you guys lived near me, I'd love to have a hand getting these last items knocked out!

  9. Very, very cool to see things moving along again and I would love to pop up and give a hand but I must the further most away, keep up the momentum.:cool: :D JW

Another item off the list, filled the rear end tonight. I'd forgotten how long it takes to pour 80/90 in a funnel, down a tube, and into a rear diff.

And this is why I used to buy quart squeeze bottles!

Been fighting a flu bug all week and I must concede, there's no way I'm making the Hot Rod Hill Climb. Funny though, I actually thought I had another week!

I knew when I set the goal it was a tough deadline, but I had to set a goal of some sort. Regardless, I got a huge jump on the small things to get the car closer to completion.

Speedway and So Cal parts arrived this morning but I haven't felt good enough to venture out to the garage. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow and get stuff done.

I know you would Jeremy, and thank you! So glad that Mustang worked out well for you two.

Feeling a bit better this morning. Walked out to a large puddle of 80/90 on the garage floor... ugh. Guess the list is getting longer instead of shorter.

It's the pinion seal. Can't get one today so I'll move on to other things.

  20. Glad you are feeling better but dang that's a bad leak, would need to be missing or the wrong one to leak that bad. Hope its an easy fix. Even if its the seal, I cant see how that much oil came out. JW

I kind of burned out again yesterday. I have to go to Las Vegas on Friday so I'll see if I can pick up the correct light switch from So Cal Speed Shop.

I'll to chip away at it each night this week though, but no definite plans just yet.

  26. I have had so many hopeful deadlines for shows etc pass by with the RPU over the years and I know how it feels.
Are you going to have hood lacing on the cowl and radiator surround? This is how mine turned out, just an idea, I bonded it on with Urethane.
Hope you are back to a 100% soon, Eric. JW

I sure am. Even if I don't build a hood for it the lacing looks right.

Plus, the cowl turned out too smooth, kind of street roddy. It needs something to break it up a bit.

Been in the driveway the majority of the day. I shot a quick video but the HAMB won't let me upload it.

Mostly working today and troubleshooting things I did more than a year ago. Chasing wires, trying to remember where I left off and why I didn't finish certain items.

Hooked everything up and hit my electrical disconnect, fire extinguisher in hand. No smoke, but no voltage. Whoops, fusible link not connected at the starter.

Try again... still no smoke, still no voltage. Tracing wires I realized I never connected the link back into the fuse panel. I think I did it with the intent of connecting it last.

Try #3, no smoke and now we have voltage. Ignition switch works, horn works, headlights work, blinkers work, stereo works. Wired up the electric fan override, now it works. Only thing not working is the rear taillights. I'll sort that out next. List is getting super short. Still have to figure out the pinion seal.

    20180930_200816.jpeg

Time to take a break and get ready to work again tomorrow. I've been working 14-16 hour days recently and it's been kicking my butt. Nice to get some time with the roadster and my family!
