We all have a personal preference as to what we choose to power our hot rods and customs and the engine selections often have nothing to do with the make of the car or truck. Much like my 1932 Ford sedan it was built 30 years ago and powered by a sbc. The '54 Ford wagon is powered by a 302 Ford & the '50 coupe is powered by a 351 Cleveland. What powers your ride? HRP
Always thought street rods should have a Buick so I opted for this light weight version. All aluminum 300 Buick. As for this, I built it in 1963 with the 261 and a 261 it will stay. Warren

261 tri carb in my 50 Chevy Original Nailhead in my 55 Buick Original flathead 6 in my 52 Chrysler A bunch of others not really worth mentioning..... to new or a mouse transplant. Always toyed with the idea of an open fender no hood car with a jaguar V12 carbed with headers! Carbed jaguar Inline 6 is a gorgeous engine also Shit , just about anything the big 3 brought out from the late 60’s on back is just dang pretty and fun !!
I just used the first sbc ever for myself Works great but fixing to swap for a 500 caddy. I have loved the 235, 223, 240/300 sixes FEs are great but I don’t like the 360 after owning a 352. No comparison Yblocks look cool but don’t compare with the FEs either Got a current ride with a 302. (Don’t like it’s lack of torque) Hopefully one day I will install the 331 hemisphere I have. Honestly I just use whatever is avalible. Brand is irrelevant. It’s all cast iron chunks with holes drilled in em
You sure that 300 Buick is all aluminum? 64 300's had aluminum heads but a iron block. Don't know what happened in the UK when Rover bought the Buick engines, maybe Rover had an all aluminum 300?
Wow......just wow.....Had 2 of those on my 2275 Cal Look Vw...4 must sound sweet and flow some serious CFM
Lets see, disc brakes, independent suspension & electric motor, yeah about as traditional as it gets - In the year 2099. HRP
technicallyspeaking ...... electric cars have been around since the 1800s But I agree with your sentiment. That being said I hope to do an electric vintage inspired build with students soon
Fords in My Fords. Chevys in my Chevys. And a sbc in my 36 Plymouth! But a Mopar buddy just donated a 360 and 727 to the cause to make it all Mopar! Good thing cause now I have another Chevy project I need a 350 for. lol Larry
