1931 DeSoto - back behind the Nugget Casino. I wish I would I would have found it when it was out on the salt.

  7. That is such a cool shot; a white, '60 Bonneville on the salt at Bonneville!! And, it's not just an ordinary Pontiac Bonneville, but a "flattop" with Tripower emblem on the fender.

Thanks Wayne (@Bowtie Coupe). I really liked that car and was thrilled to see it where it was. I didn't even know about the tripower emblem.

You're welcome and thanks @Dino 64. I think so too. A lot of pictures could have as well. Some were fortunate to be easier to modify and get rid of the modern stuff, such as this one where I did get rid of a bunch.

You were able to edit out my drool marks too. That green model A coupe was near where our camp was. Every time I went to the "honey bucket" I'd stop and have a drool .....lots of little touches that made that car really cool.

You're welcome @Dino 64. I will see if there are any of that other A above that lend themselves to being modified the same way.

I couldn't find any mention of this one in the daily runs. Maybe 533 was not its real number.

I was wondering where those drool marks came from ;). It was parked in it's camp I think when I shot it. I took quite a few pics of it cuz I loved it too.
    Thanks @Jethro

The Montana Dodge Boys, now we're talking. From what I heard the '31 DeSoto was with these guys. They have WAY too much fun and set records too.

  21. Dan, that pic of the green Model A is nothing short of fantastic. The subject matter, the pose, the colors, the location, and the background are all pure perfection. It ought to be the cover shot for someone's calendar! I'm green with envy!!:D:D Can you tell??

I liked that old Dodge pickup a lot too @noboD. I wish I would have been able to get a shot of it more out in the open.
Wayne (@Bowtie Coupe) I think everyone loved that little green A. Here is one more view of it, though I like the top one better when it comes to the setting.

    Wow!

I always love your shots, and once again you didn't disappoint. What great coverage of both race and street hot rods.

    Thanks for doing this Dan!

I meet a guy in Pleasanton at the goodguys show, he was wearing a 300 mph shirt. I asked him if he had gone 300 and he said yes in a roadster none the less and had set a record. Damned if I can remember his name. Anyone out the know who he is? I searched the Bonneville results and didnt see it.

Thank you so much @bonesy. I actually have included what I call "coverage" shots which means they are fun to show for documentation but not good enough due to backgrounds or other unwanted things in the picture, but not good enough to be considered "art" or be in books or calendars or anything. If you have watched my threads before, I don't usually include much like that. Most of the race car shots would have been impossible if I stuck to that standard.
@rusty rocket - I don't have any idea about that, but hopefully someone else will.
@noboD - the Montana Dodge boys did seem to have a lot going on. Here is another angle on their camp in the pits. I would have loved to have a clean shot of just that cool old Autocar. You can see that they had a little of almost everything.

Another "coverage" shot. I would have loved to get good shots of this very cool pickup

Dan, all God's Rodders love the Salt, but the time and care you put in your work are WAY above and beyond! And then to lay it all out for us to enjoy? TOO MUCH!!
