Today was the tenth anniversary of one of the southeast's premier traditional hot rod events, Steel In Motion. The crowd was a little smaller this year due to the event being rescheduled from a rain- out in the spring. Nevertheless, the folks who were there were treated to an unusually pleasant day, considering it is late summer in the south. I didn't take as many pictures a I usually do, rather I spent some time on the track with the roadster and thouroughly enjoyed the day. Here are some of the things I saw. Went and had an awesome time pounding on my coupe! Met lots of great people and saw a lot of great cars! Thanks so much for the pics! Very much appreciated!
The clocks were not on. I ran twice, once against Bill Aiken’s T and a solo run. By my speedo it looked to be between 75-80 at the finish. I have no idea about the time. At least it didn’t embarrass me, it pulled strong and didn’t sputter, miss and/or fart. It was fun...probably been 40+ years since I was on a drag strip.
