    How do you suppose the framework at the rear of the top got mashed forward on the top car? I'll bet it hurt a bunch?

    I suspect these are thumbs that SpeedDemon has come across on some site due to their small size. With a little searching you can find the bigger images, use tineye.com and the link of the small image.

    Sometimes you can find some interesting facts about the picture, sometimes not.

    they're called "woodlites". popular accessory way back then. looked cool but not much light!

    No backstory, I imagine. 1/71; did they wait to get the film developed, did the car not sell until after languishing on the lot, or did the first owner become a dad and trade it in on a four-door Valiant?

    They are Woodlite headlights, available for all makes if one desired.

    Not so, a lot were made at various SoCal locations, Corriganville. Melody Ranch, Paramount Ranch, etc.

    My grade school pals' older brother bought a used 1964 Avanti in about 1966, exact same color as this one, had a 289 and automatic, just a four barrel, not a supercharged version.
    He took us for a ride once in a while and boy that thing hauled, I seem to recall the speedo reading 125 mph.
    Not sure why but he referred to it as his high speed coke bottle.
